We were in town for a corporate function. Lucky enough to go here one night. The food was excellent - both the swordfish and tenderlion. Great sides. Great service. Best meal in a while and we get to many great places. Truly 5 star PS - have the green beans - I thought we were going to arm wrestle over the last helping!!

I love this place. I had been to the BLT in NYC and was looking forward to trying out the new BLT on SoBe at the Betsy Hotel when my parents came to town. First and foremost, the service was excellent. As per my other reviews, it is hard to find great service in Miami, and when I do, I'm thrilled. The location is great. The Hotel is not your typical SoBe hotel. The decor is more minimalistic, but very nice. The dinner crowd is also not your typical trendy see and be seen Miami Beach crowd. If that's what you're looking for, go elsewhere. If you are looking for a great dinner in a relaxed atmosphere, try BLT. The Chopped salad is great. People rave about the pop-overs. I think they're just okay. I tried the Dover Sole, which is hard to find in Miami. It was very good.

Best steak on the beach. I live in the heart of the steak district - 1 block from Prime 112, Prime Italian, Red, Devito and Fogo di Chao. But, I travel to BLT steak. My love affair began when they served the hot popovers. The rest of the food was also fabulous as were the cocktails and the service. I could not believe I was sitting on Ocean Drive. In fact, I only went because out of town friends really wanted to eat there. Now, I don't think I could go back to my neighborhood steak houses. It's BLT or nothing.

Amazing option for brunch - actually every meal. I cant say enough good things about this place I love the popovers, the ceaser salad, meats, sides.......the wait staff is really personable and not uptight. Not a bad experience yet!

This is a great location and the setting is well done. Contrary to many of the other reviews, we had excellent service and were well taken care of. I didn't feel that the food was as compelling. It is very expensive and everything is ala carte. For the prices, the food should be amazing. It was not. It was just good but there is plenty of it so you definitely will not leave hungry. I was very appreciative of their prix fixe menu - $60 for 3 courses.

My boyfriend and I still talk about this place every time we go out to eat. We came here in January of 2010. It was our last night, so we didn't mind the high price. There was a really long wait, so we hung out in the bar area and had a Cosmo, while he had a Dark N Stormy. They were both really good. Then we went onto our full-course meals. They started us off with this amazing cheese crusted bread, one for each of us. Then we got the Tuna Tartar for an app, which was amazing. Then, I had the duck, which came with a really good jalepeno mashed potato, and he had one of the steaks. So good. I didn't realize there was another in NYC, so I can't wait to go.

Located in the Betsy Hotel on Miami Beach, BLT is known for its dry aged steaks, giant bread basket, and celeb clientele. While I don't find celebrities particularly exciting, giant popovers the size of a human head are very impressive. Especially when accompanied by sea salt and warm butter. I think what made dining at BLT so fantastic was the staff's enthusiasm and passion for great food. Too many restaurants skimp on their Miami Spice menus, listing their lamest and cheapest menu items. Miami Spice is supposed to be a time for restaurants to showcase their best dishes, which is exactly what BLT did. full review here: assaultnpepper.com/2011/…

This review is prefaced by saying that we tend toward the vegetarian persuasion. Why go to a steak place like this? It is a great place for salads, bread (popovers) and some veggies or occasional seafood. The place has a mostly non-South Beach vibe -- casual but professional wait staff, open environment (you can watch people check in while dining), and abundant food. The wine list is mostly pricey (Acacia Pinot was $19 the last time we visited--more costly than the price of a full bottle at retail). Outside seating is great. Their brunch is a somewhat hidden gem--huge portions of great lunch and breakfast items.

Great food! Awesome tuna appy. Steaks are amazing. Sides are awesome. The Betsy is cool but kind of weird eating in the lobby. You are literally staring at the front desk.

This is a review for the 2015 Miami Spice dinner. The restaurant is located inside the Betsy hotel, very nice ambience and decor. I like the booth seating with comfy pillows :) - Two complimentary appetizers: chicken liver paste was delicious; the popovers were fluffy and smelled so good! It was yummy with butter while it was hot, but then it was just ok (like regular bread) after a few bites haha. I'm not going to complain though because free food = happy me. - Appetizers: salmon sushi roll was not good (let's just stick with steak for a steakhouse please); veal and pork meatballs were pretty good...kinda dry but still tasty - Main course: 12 oz cab coulotte medium rare was flavorful with a nice pink center like how I wanted. I enjoyed it but I wish it was a little more tender and juicy. Overall, my fiance and I liked the steak. We got both the squash and collard greens for our sides, and we only liked the squash. It was tasty while the collard greens had a very strong saucy taste that we didn't like (meh..we didn't even touch it) - Desserts: YUM! I like the chocolate mousse! I haven't tried the cake yet because I took it to go. Then they gave us complimentary madeleine cookies as well, which were really good! The flavor was very interesting and I liked it. Overall, I thought the Miami Spice dinner was a really good deal. There were definitely more hits than misses, so I would recommend this if you're looking for a place to try for Miami Spice :)

I was so disappointed!!!!! My husband and I went to BLT Steak with a friend from DC. We love the Betsy Hotel and frequently go there for their music and drinks so we decided to give it a whirl and have dinner beforehand. I wanted to go with the Miami Spice option, which we had one time before and it was excellent -- not this time. I ordered the seafood stew. They brought a large cast iron pot to the table and presented it to me. Inside, a thin smear of "broth" with two shrimp, two clams and a small square of fish. All of it was very overcooked and the broth was almost like a gravy and very, very salty. I ate what little seafood there was but I don't think I've ever been so disappointed in a meal. The previous year, portions were good - this year, they were tiny. This was a Thursday night so I'd expect them to be ready for the weekend rush and be on top of their game but not so. It was very busy and service was sporadic at best. I still love the Betsy for its bar area and special events but I'd think long and hard before returning for dinner. How sad!!

This place is goddamn phenomenal. Bone in ribeye was unreal. Popovers are amazing. Get the onion rings. Best I've ever had.

At least for breakfast. The popovers are great! The drinks are delicious, service has never been poor, and the environment is perfect. Classy place! Which is much needed on ocean drive. Also, the French Toast is amazing! And the pancakes are fluffy and delicious! You can't go wrong.

Loved the food here. Got a chicken pesto sandwich with fries. Service was very nice. My only complaint was the coffee was cold and not super tasty. Other than that, it was lovely

Came for Miami Spice Lunch You get a complementary bread, one per person. Very tasty! Ordered: -ROASTED PEACH SALAD: The salad was good, it was sitting on a layer of cheese at the bottom (goat/ricotta type?). Solid B. -PORKBELLY KATSU SUSHI ROLL: Was super excited to try this one. It was tasty but didn't meet my high expectations. Again a solid B. I felt like it was missing something.... perhaps a sauce? It was a bit one dimensional. Overall, awesome concept for a roll and it was pretty good. -PRIME CAB BRISKET PANINI: It looks better than it tastes. I would give this a C rating. The brisket panini came with a slaw. It was alight. The fries were the highlight of the dish. They had just a touch of spiciness and were seasoned well. -PAN ROASTED BLACK GROUPER: The grouper was also good. Sitting on top of an avocado/guacamole mix. The flavors complemented well, I felt the tomatoes didn't fit as well with the avocados and the fish. The grouper itself was good, it's a tougher fish.... not flaky and easily breaking as tilapia for example, but the fish was cooked well. -VALRHONA CHOCOLATE AND STRAWBERRY CAKE: The Valrhona chocolate was awesome. It's basically like icecream? It came with the little truffle-like crumbs that were fantastic. The strawberry cake itself was also very good. -COCONUT LIME CHEESECAKE: Definitely get he coconut flavors and textures... the crust was very tasty. Overall great dessert option. The desserts were probably the best part of the meal. %18 gratuity is automatic, so keep it in mind. Overall, decent experience, nothing over the top.

Sitting outside and people watching as we eat perfectly cooked steaks? Awesome. The popovers? Wow. Amazing. And I totally took the recipe, and promptly purchased a popover pan off of Amazon when I returned home. Oh and good salt. I started with the lobster Cobb salad? DELICIOUS! Each of us had a different appetizer and we all loved what we got. For my entree I got the skirt steak with chimichurri sauce, and it was cooked perfectly. Skirt steak can go from perfection to a brick in like 10 seconds, but that didn't happen! We also shared the onion rings and I had to laugh when they brought out this huge tower of rings. Very good rings, and super mild onions. Delicious!

This was my first time at a BLT Steak. My friends and I were walking down Ocean Drive in Miami and trying to find a place to get some late morning breakfast. We initially stopped at the Front Porch Cafe and were told it'd be about a 25 minute wait. 45 minutes later we ditched FPC and walked down the strip. A few of us saw a man eating a dish out of a skillet (eventually we'd come to find out it was the BLT Popover) that looked amazing. We immediatley took a right into the restaurant and put down our names. It wasn't 10 minutes before they pushed together a couple of tables to accommodate our party of 7. As soon as we sat down we were greeted by our server with ice cold water and a run-down on the menu. He then brought us fresh popover bread for each of us to try! I eventually settled on the BLT popover. It was crazy good. It was 2 poached eggs inside of 2 popover buns. There was bacon on top and it was accompanied with seasoned potatoes, a pesto-topped tomato, and a refreshing salad. This was probably one of the best breakfasts I've had in a while. There was a ton of it though and I only managed to eat about 3/4 of the dish. Overall this is a solid choice if you're looking for some good breakfast/brunch food!

I visited BLT for Miami spice this year for lunch. I brought my toddler and husband as well. We are locals to SoBe and are accustomed to all the nice restaurants and the treatment they usually give. As we were preparing to order, I took out my little Tupperware container that I almost always bring for my son as he is a picky eater. I bring home cooked food that I know he will eat without any problems. The server approached me and told me that outside food is not allowed. I was really surprised and asked why? She said it was to protect the hotel. In case my child got sick off my own home cooked food, the hotel would not be held liable. MY HOME COOKED ORGANIC FRESH food. I was stunned to say the least. As I sat there deliberating whether or not I wanted to leave, she insisted that they have great food for kids like pastas and grilled cheese. She proceeded to tell me how nutritious the grilled cheese sandwich was. After my husband calmed me down, we decided to make the best of things and just stay. As for the food itself, yes the popovers were good as usual, the cured salmon was mediocre and the rice fell apart, the flank steak sandwich was burnt on the edges and dry. It was almost impossible to chew. Flavors were not impressive. I do not plan on coming back to this restaurant.

I got the 8oz filet and baked potato. The filet is very flavorful and cooked perfectly. Looks small but, it may be all I can eat since that's most of what I've been doing. The baked potato is quite good also, could be cooked a little longer but I'll still enjoy it. Would definitely come back.

The Burger was unstoppable, overwhelming little spot if you're in the area. The whole staff was welcoming and knowledgeable about menu items. It's Perfect location, I'm waiting for my next return.

Located inside the Betsy Hotel, BLT definitely stands out from the rest of Ocean drives aggressive hostesses, cramped sidewalk cafes and interesting drink specials. As you walk inside, you feel warm and comfortable with an air of sophistication and class. I visited with a group of friends, and we all loved it. I was surprised of how eclectic the menu was, don't let the name fool you, you can have a delicious steak or fish, sushi, tacos, and a wide variety of side dishes BLT has something for everyone in your party while providing the finest service in Deco Drive. Music on weekend creates the mood for a fun night out on the strip. Good for dates, family, friends or business.

This is an awesome steak house! From ambiance to the service and most importantly the food, everything was great. For being a steakhouse, the clothing attire isn't as strict and intimidating as I thought it'd be. Maybe because it's on ocean drive, but this is a welcoming place to all. The complimentary toasted bread with the chicken liver spread is delicious. This has to be one of the best free-treats I've ever had and one of the most unique. I ordered their ribeye for $55 medium rare, two sauces: Peppercorn and Chimichurri! The steaks was juicy and tender but not as thick and moist as some of the better steaks I've had. Overall the steaks were a B-

My GF and I dined here during our recent visit to Miami. Sadly, we were left feeling very underwhelmed. The pros: Liliya our server was very attentive, so based upon the other reviews regarding poor service we were pleasantly surprised (but then again it was 930PM which is an early dinner by comparison to Miami standard). The popovers are outstanding as consistent with other reviews. The sushi was decent, all things considering it's a steakhouse. We ordered the Dragon roll and the Wagyu roll. Darker and Stormier was a great drink. The Betsy hotel atmosphere is great, so the restaurant definitely has an edge inheriting the hotel's charm. Downsides: Our steaks (8oz filet and 22oz ribeye) were cooked properly but lacked the tenderness and overall flavor profile that you'd expect from a high-end steakhouse. Our server mentioned something about the Steakhouse doing wet aging (whereas we're accustomed to places using the dry aging technique) so perhaps that played a major difference in taste. The wild hen mushrooms were overcooked and too salty. We ordered oysters, but after they arrived we were informed they did not have the type ordered. Honestly, for the money spent it was very disappointing. Even more so, considering it was the GF's birthday dinner and we were very excited to try this place based on the hype.

Great location right on ocean drive with inside and out side seating. The serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Table for 4, all of was were extremely impressed. From the start warm popover bread and chicken livers were excellent. The steaks 18oz bone in strips were cooked perfectly and seasoned to perfection. The jalapeño mashed potatoes and BBQ corn were awesome. The desert sampler was also something I would highly recommend; chocolate and peanut butter mousse, carrot cake, and a lemon crepe. Decor is very clean, warm and inviting. Prices are what you would expect at a high end steakhouse. Wine was about 2.5 times for a bottle, overall good selection to choose from. Service was A+, very friendly and just the right amount attention.

Delicious! The restaurant is located on the busy Ocean Drive, and has indoor and outdoor seating. I came with my family for Christmas dinner. The waitress was very attentive and patient. We each had different entrees- short ribs, snapper, swordfish, and cold crab salad. The chef was kind enough to swap blood orange for grapefruit in my mom's meal. My short ribs were superb. I basically licked my plate clean! Also downed a dark and stormy, which was decent. I love the cheese pop overs and bread with pate and pickled veggies that come standard with every meal. We all left full and happy.

Went there to dinner last night and I must said the service and food were excellent. Had the beef tongue sliders as apetizer, very delicious. Had the lamb and crab filet, absolutely awesome. The cream spinach, potato gratin and jalapeño mash potatoes, delicious! Let's not forget the popover. ..... so good. With appetizers, the popovers, we were almost full....so order less sides if you do not have a big appetite. The only hiccup was that we arrived earlier than our reservation time and was told that we had to wait closer to the reservation time, despite some empty tables in plain site.

Again, how did I not write about this place before? Well maybe because I would not have firmly given it 4 stars prior. But, now I am an absolute fan of this restaurant. I have eaten breakfast, lunch and dinner here on several occasions and each visit has been great. Had I known they give you a fresh popover straight from the oven with delicious whipped butter and sea salt to sprinkle on it, I would have eaten dinner at BLT much, much sooner. That alone is to die for! My $22 glass of Russian River pinot noir was a little better than ok but the wine list by the glass, in general, gave one many options which I always adore. I almost got a Super Tuscan but love my Pinots too much. I had the caeser salad again as it is presented beautifully and is a very generous portion. I would have gotten the sole but didn't feel like spending $50 for fish, which seemed a bit steep. I suppose the big thing about this place is the steak but you can do just fine being a vegetarian here. Friends got a few of the sides including the baked potato and grilled asparagus, which were delicious. I've had that same asparagus for breakfast with eggs. They do a really excellent job with it. The presentation of every dish is above and beyond. Sadly my phone died so I couldn't take photos. Highly recommend. The decor is stylish and cozy and the location across from the water in a perfect part of Ocean Drive is A+.

Classy Oasis in a Sea of Trashy Disasters. Needed a last minute Friday night reso and a friend suggested this place. It's right on ocean drive like a million other restaurants that serve 42 ounce frozen drinks and pay people to harass you as you walk by but this place was different. We sat outside on the patio but it was quiet and peaceful. For cocktails I embraced my new found love for brown liquor and had a gentleman. It was a bourbon drink with one of those huge ice cubes. It was awesome , so I had another. To eat we ordered the crab salad and the lamb tartar. Delish. But the big surprises were the pillowy crusty mountains of irresistible carbs they bring out to start. For entree we shared a lamb chop which was good and 2 sides that were just ok : jalepeño mashed potatoes and BBQ corn. Service was great , Food was great , Price was kind of high , and location was less than ideal.

The Betsy Hotel is a knockout hotel and I am glad to say their Miami restaurant is a grand fit. Our waiter brought us a complimentary chicken liver pâté as a a teaser. I ordered scallops and risotto and chocolate cake via the prix fixe. My brother enjoyed a filet and green salad. instead of rolls, a homemade popover that was a huge treat. This was our best meal in SOBE this year. Expensive and worth it.

I don't know why, but I've been on a steak kick recently. BLT was also on my list of steakhouses to try so I decided to break in a new credit card with a visit to BLT. I've been to the Betsy before for their bar and live jazz, but never made it around to BLT. It was a nice winter evening out, so I decided to bring my dog and grab a table outside. Started with a nice bourbon cocktail -- The Remedy -- and the baby spinach salad. Enjoyed the complimentary popover as well as the chicken liver pate. I was about to order the 22oz bone-in ribeye, when the server mentioned a 30oz. bone-in ribeye special for only $5 more. Five dollars for an extra 8oz?!? Sign me up! As my side dish, I waffled between the jalapeno mashed potato or the fontina & bacon baked potato. I ended up choosing the baked potato because you can never have too much bacon (the salad had bacon too). The ribeye was outstanding, great marbling, and I couldn't believe the special price they had. If there's a pound-for-pound (or pound-for-dollar) ranking of top-notch steakhouses in South Beach, BLT would come out on top. Suffice to say, this was a lot of food, so I passed on dessert. When I'm craving steak, BLT Steak is now seriously in the running. I'd probably call ahead to find out about their daily specials, and if I hear that 30+oz. ribeye listed as a special, I'm there. Guaranteed.

After a night of drinking with my girl, this place set us straight. Dinner with the perfect view. My only gripe was that the Steak was too chard on the out side. But it was very nice cut. My girl really enjoyed their deserts. They are not open too late so get in early before you hit the strip.

One of the best meals and service I have experienced on the beach in a long time... Food was excellent! A little on the high side but I definitely don't mind paying when it's all worth it... They give complimentary chicken pate that is really good. And the bread is really good. Just be careful because you can get full before any food comes out. I got the Rib Eye which was so flavorful. My fiance ordered off the Miami Spice menu which was great... I usually don't care for spice because they tend to be on the smaller side when it comes to steak. Our server was Rachel. I will definitely go back and request her as our server. She was great!!! The entire check was $208 which for 2 people having a couple drinks each and having food like that was completely worth it!!! Finally a place to eat on ocean drive that is really good!!!

Expensive, but delicious. The filet was cooked perfectly and also came with a selection of 5 different sauces if you were so inclined - I had the three mustard sauce and the flavors were delightful. The sides are family style sized. The jalapeño mashed potatoes are fab, with just enough kick to keep you interested. The creamed spinach - meh, just ok, but then again, I'm not a spinach guy. My only nit was the wine list. $60 for the cheapest wine seems a bit much. If you can sit outside, do. We had to be inside because of rain but on a cool evening, sitting outside is definitely the place to be.

Fan of the Popovers! New York Strip was pretty darn good as well... not a huge fan of the space, feels like the hotel lobby that it is, the lounge area is nice though.

Been to the one in DC and it's great. Came to Miami and this one sucks. Ordered tuna tartare and it looked old kinda like it was sitting in the fridge a couple days. Ordered the burger medium and it came out well done. It's hard to eat a dry ass burger! Chicken Panini was horrible no flavor. Not a good place to eat. Service was excellent however thus the 2 stars.

Great steak. Great service. Outdoor seating. You should go here. The steak is really really excellent. They char it at a really high heat so it is crispy outside but the right amount of tender inside. Perfection. Had the potato gratin which was good, but didn't wow me over. They bring a little something at the beginning of the meal... liver mouse and a popover with butter. The popover was good and the liver was really good. I am a huge fan of liver mouse and this was herb-ier / earthier than others I've tried. It was pretty solid. At the end was orange sugar cookies. I could taste a little too much flour but it wasn't bad, just not great. The wine list was really solid. Loved the option for half bottles. And the cab I picked was really very good. The outdoor seating on Ocean Drive was super relaxing and nice and warm. It's away from the shot girls and neon further down the strip. The service was excellent. I had the most charming fella as my waiter. I would highly recommend this spot when in South Beach.

So I asked my concierge a great place to have a great Meal he recommended BLT steakhouse so we're on our way and we check trip adviser first to get the rating. trip adviser says they close at 2:30 and reopen at five I was wondering why my Concierge would tell me to go there then. So I called the place and I I asked them if they were open they said yes I said OK well trip advisor said you close at 2:30 so that's why we called to doublecheck they said no were open I said OK be right there when we got there which was around 2:45 PM they tell us cold food and salads are available because the gas is turned off for a few hours and won't be back up and running until four or five. So I just find this all very suspicious because the neighboring restaurants did not have a gas outage so I think trip advisor had it correct they do basically close at 2:30 but they'll let people come in for things like salads but they should've told me that when I called them and inquired about the closing time because had I known that it was salad and cold foods only I would not have went there so there's something fishy going on there between 230 and five they should just be honest and said that that's a slow time for them and they close from 230 to 5 no big deal if you're upfront and honest with people

Had one of the best Ribeye steaks here. Complimentary bone marrow and roasted whole garlic for good measure made it amazing. Perfectly cooked. Gratin and bbq corn were also fantastic sides. This place cranks out amazing food at all the locations and thankfully Miami Beach can now be added to the list.

I can only vouch for their dessert and hot choclate cause thats what we went here for. It was our last night in south beach, we went here sunday night at 9:00 pm. We were seated right away by a hostess. The waiter was very nice and attentive. I ordered the Key Lime Panna Cotta with coconut sorbet. I had never had Key lime without a crust and this was a new experience. I loved it. I equally enjoyed my less sweet hot choclate. My friends ordered the Crepe Souffle with Passion Fruit Sauce, Caramelized Cheesecake with Cranberry-Citrus Soup, coffee and cappuccino. The caramelized cheesecake was one of my other favorite. The waiter also brought us few pieces of complementary orange flavored dessert. Forgot what they were called, but we enjoyed those too.

Sat at the bar tonight hoping to have the wagyu ribeye that I enjoy so much at the 57th st nyc location. To my surprise, the female bartender is the rudest restaurant employee that I have encountered in a very long time. She is obviously not happy there. I will never return to blt miami!!

I have been coming to BLT Steak Miami with my fiance for 3 years now.. We literally plan our trips to Miami around this restaurant. (Pretty extreme, but if you've ever dined here you would understand) The food is insanely incredible, the steaks are always cooked to perfection and the staff is beyond amazing. We have been lucky to have Azis as our server almost each time, and he is one of our favorite people ever. The GM, David, is also amazing. He is very knowledgeable with everything and truly knows how to pick a great bottle of wine! We have also had the pleasure to meet the manager, Eva, and she is also a delight. Overall, BLT is a fantastic restaurant.... On our last trip we became engaged and immediately celebrated at BLT! There is no place we would rather dine while in Miami.

Dinner is so good and is truly the first place on Ocean Dr that has quality food. The appetizers are so good and the cream of spinach is my favorite. Is good for big groups and date nite because the place is not very loud. The service was good and they have a great selection of wine.

Great food & ambiance BLT is inside the Betsy hotel. My girlfriend and I enjoyed the 5 spice Asian salad with grilled chicken and the tuna tartar for lunch both were excellent. Steiner our waiter was very attentive. Popovers are served as a complimentary starter and they are to die for.

Great Steaks at a great spot. The ribs are also excellent as is the Jalapeño mash potato! Great place to have breakfast or brunch too!

okay well i've had two very different experiences here and the only difference was the time of day. so i stopped here for breakfast with a friend around 10am during the weekend and it was okay. the service was good but the food was disappointing. i got a bakery basket with a side of potato hash and my friend got the banana french toast. first of all, this shit was pricey and i don't go out often for breakfast so i was really hoping it was going to be worth it, but sadly it was wasn't. everything in the bakery basket was dry, bland, and flavorless. i could probably get better baked goods at publix for $5. and the potato hash was good, but i mean it's pretty hard to fuck up potatos so...and turns out my friend didn't even like her dish either. she let me have a bite and i completely understood why. it was overly sweet, almost artificial, super dry even with syrup and whatever the fuck that banana stuff was, and it just didn't taste good. i don't know why! it looked soooo good, i guess they just couldn't execute. very sad. but besides that we went for dinner and it was really good. steak was amazing, service was cool, very nice setup/feel inside.

Ate here last night. Food and service was excellent. Caesar salad was best I have had. Two people got filets which they loved, one got the bone in rib eye that he swore was the best he has ever had and I shared the porterhouse for 2 and thought it was equal to any steak I have had. All were perfectly cooked. For sides we got the jalapeño mashed potatoes which were incredible, cherry tomatoes Provencal which was delicious and grilled asparagus which was also good. Finished off with the dessert sampler. All of it was good but the carrot cake was insanely good.

Was sooo excited to try this place out! New to Miami and I'm looking for some nice places to dine. Went there at 10:30 am for breakfast and I'm honestly not a complainer but this was by far the worst service I've had anywhere to date. I know that sounds dramatic but seriously... 12 minutes before the waitress even acknowledged me and then another 15 just for tomato juice. I ordered the steak and eggs and it looked amazing until I cut into it... I ordered it medium rare and it came out medium. I know some people might not care but when I go to a place with such a great rating I expect them to live up to it. At this point I wasn't happy because on top of the 27 minute wait time just to get a drink it took an additional 30 just to get my tough, over cooked steak. I didn't even eat, I got it to go and didn't complain but was obviously frustrated, yet nobody seemed to care why I was unhappy. I've quickly found that the problem with Miami is the amount of people that are willing to spend money. There are so many people coming through the doors that it's as if they don't care what your experience was because there's always another person in line to drop some cash. Anyways, hopefully I can convince myself to give this place another try... I'm sorry for both parties that the experience was as bad as it was.

I just visit this restaurant because of Miami Spice Restaurant Week. So it's nothing special, they have only 8 items to choose, so I ordered everything from menu)))) but anyway dishes was delicious and with something special, I like a fish (unfortunately I don't remember the name if this entree). Waiter was nice

I've never received this bad of service in Miami and at a fine dining restaurant. We only received on glass of water for our entire meal. My meat was more medium rare than the medium I requested but the waiter never returned to ask if everything was cooked okay. When we asked to speak with the Manager she simply looked lost when we told her about our issues. Problem was the chef was outside sitting at the table next to us. He never said a word to us and blocked access to our table. Clearly the issue with BLT lies with it's management or lack thereof. I've been to this restaurant several times but today was my last time.

We had an absolutely wonderful dinner here on vacation. Everything was delicious from the complimentary popovers to the bone-in ribeye we ordered. We had the blue crab salad as appetizer which was packed with crisp flavors. The steak was well seasoned and cooked perfectly medium rare. Ordered asparagus on the side which was juicy, fresh, and very flavorful. Yum! Our server was attentive and friendly. Ambience of this place is tasteful yet not pretentious with live jazz piano performance (on Wednesday and Thursday night). Will definitely recommend it and I'd love to come back here if I get a chance.

Swordfish sandwich was phenomenal- cooked perfectly with a mango-like salsa on top, and sliced cucumbers. It was a cross between an Asian gunship and traditional style swordfish sandwich. Fries were seasoned and blacked, delicious, too. We came here and sat by the pool, indulged in a luxurious pool day, and splurged on this delicious meal. I shared the sandwich- needless to say, we were fighting for the last bite.

This was an excellent choice for brunch. The food was amazing and the service was great. Our meal started off with popovers, butter and jam. The popovers were great, reminded me of the ones my grandfather made. We ordered 7 meals between the 5 of us and the standouts was the bacon popover, tuna tartare and oysters. At first we thought the bacon popover would be a bit over the top with all the cheese and bechamel sauce, but the whole thing works and I totally recommend an order for anybody's table. The burger while juicy and delish was a tad too salty. The coffee was hot, good and refills were freely flowing (always a good sign).

We dined last night, outdoor seating, great for watching good, south beach culture. I gave a extra star because our server Scott was the best, very knowledgable about the food and fun too! The food was excellent, one steak a little over cooked, but very good. The liver pâté very good, and I could eat those popovers everyday. Spinach salad, excellent. Overall, you can't go wrong at the BLT.

I went to BLT Steak in South Beach for the spice menu and it was really a surprise. Often times Miami Spice is not up to par of the regular menu but theirs was. The server, Jenn was very informative and made us feel at home. Try the short ribs and mushrooms, they were perfect. Everything is nicely priced for this amazing place. I recommend it to anyone looking for a nice low key dinner.

Average typical severely overpriced steakhouse. Came here for a business dinner on a recent trip. Its located in the betsy hotel on south beach which is literally nicest hotel on ocean ave. We were seated right away and the waiter took our drink orders, of course only recommending the most expensive items on the menu despite asking about the specific kinds of wines we were looking for. We ignored him and picked some wine we wanted to try which was good as its a decent wine list. They brought out some toasted bread and chicken liver pate. The pate didn't taste that great and wasn't my cup of tea. Luckily they brought out some popovers which were pretty tasty. My appetizer of the grilled octopus followed that. While not a bad dish it wasn't exactly good either. It was very bland and just lacked overall flavor it was however thankfully cooked properly which is rather hard to find a place that can grilled octopus correctly. We both ordered the rib eye steak for our main. It came out in a cast iron skillet up a bulb of garlic. This was the really big disappointment. It was heavily charred and just way too overseared. It tasted like charcoal and just had little flavor and this is for a rare steak. My client also had the same feedback for his steak so it just seems to be their thing. The sides of fries were average nothing special just normal fries, the bbq corn for the other side we got was very tasty and about the only thing we got that was actually very good. For dessert we got the crape soufflé with passion fruit sauce. The crape soufflé wasn't good and i couldn't finish more than half of it. Just a doughy blob. The passionfruit sauce however was quite tasty but lets be real how is passionfruit and sugar not tasty?! so hard to screw that one up! Service overall was slow and rather terrible. The waiter had an attitude and his only focus was selling the highest priced items on the menu to try to increase his tip. Really a very disappointing meal with a waiter who obviously did not enjoy his job and was only interested in his tip. Poor quality bland average food. Give this one a miss there is much better options in miami.

I came here for brunch and I was pleasantly surprised with the food and my overall experience. Our server was great, the ambiance and decor was very nice (like many restaurants in South Beach). The dish the stood out was the popover/croissant egg dish with some kind of hollandaise sauce. it was delicious!

If you're in SB and want a great dining experience this the place to do it. Started with the spicy tuna roll and blue crab roll and both were great. My wife and I shared the 22 oz rib eye and it was amazing. Cooked perfectly and the flavor was spot on. Ended with the carrot cake which was one of the best, if not the best, I've had and I love carrot cake. Popover bread is a great addition.

I have been to BLT several times in the past and have always rated it a five. As a rule it's that good, however this menu and special brunch were way under their standards. I took my family for Mother's Day Brunch and was greatly disappointed. They offered a. Special menu that included 3 courses plus a side for $50. Thought I would give it a try....should have stuck with the beef. First course was a modified version of a BLT, incredible cut of meat and seasoned to perfection, a 10 on all accounts. The second course I ordered was unavailable after a little bit of wait so I ended up with another modification of a classic huervos rancheros. What I got was a layered black bean dip with some shrimp and an egg on top. No flavoring, in fact quite flavorless, I also ordered the kale soufflé. Wow this was not tried by anyone or they wouldn't have served this dish. The bottom was a couple of kale leaves topped with huge break crumbs, or mainly it was a bread crumb side.....lastly was th dessert which was coconut pancakes. Again they should have tried this first. Thick but so dry not even syrup could help me wha them down, And since I mention syrup they served it in a ladle dish that barely amounted to a fourth cup, enough to barely cover 1 pancake. We also got the salmon salad appetizer at a cost of almost $30. The salad was a side salad way over priced for this selection. Completely disappointing experience especially from a place that always sends out 5 star foods and service. Again. This was a review just of that one meal so as long as you avoid this one day of year you will love this place.

We stayed at the Betsy Hotel (where BLT is located) for our 25th anniv. and decided to go to BLT. I had told them it was our anniversary, but no one mentioned a thing up front, not hostess or server, who was stoic and none too friendly. The layout is very strange, to say the least. It's part of the hotel's lobby, which is fairly small and we didn't want to sit "in the lobby", so we ended up at a back corner table...next to a large, LOUD bunch of folks...not very romantic. If it weren't raining, we'd have sat outside where it's cozy and you can peoplewatch! The food was good, and Porterhouse for 2 is amazing, seasoned well and comes out sizzling...although a bit overdone. We loved the potatoes, the popovers that they automatically bring out and the salads and other side dishes. We didn't try the sushi that night, however we did eat at the bar over several days and the sushi and tuna apps are incredible!! Waiters and front of the house needs to get a clue, smile a little, interact with your clients, for Pete's sake! They pay enough to go there!! At dessert, the waiter brought out a Happy Anniv. plate, complements of the chef, but never mentioned anything himself.... Anyway, breakfast was good there. I'd go back and sit outside to give it another try.

YES! I loved this place. Definitely one of the best meals I've had in awhile. Thank you Miami Spice! Beautiful restaurant in the Betsy Hotel with outdoor seating on the hotel's patio overlooking the beach (well beach dunes). We didn't have reservations since it was kind of a last second decision to go there and even though it was buzzing with people we had no trouble getting a two top outside. The hosts were really sweet especially when we told them it was our first wedding anniversary. Our waiter was nice- not the warmest but attentive and helpful. The food though was amazing. We both partook in the Miami Spice menu. We were given the pate and popovers at the beginning of the meal which was a nice touch. Also loved the pickled veggies, very refreshing in the August heat. The popovers- OMG they are huge and soo good. I would go back just for those. Everything was delicious and presented so nicely. Highlights for me include the red snapper ceviche, jalapeño mashed potatoes, the sushi on the Miami Spice menu and the strawberry creamsicle dessert. My husband's steak was also delicious from the bite I had. Although really it seemed like you just couldn't go wrong. For cocktails I recommend the ocean drive- sweet but not gross and syrupy. I think you could go here for almost any occasion- happy hour, celebration, just for dinner and be very pleased (as long as you're okay paying the price). I'll be thinking of this meal for a loooong time to come!

Came here for brunch in April 2012. The atmosphere is great. We had seating outside. The seating was perfect, as we sat on the upper deck, and not on the sidewalk where randoms are just passing by your food... Our waiter took some time to get to us at first, but after that he was great. I ordered my first bloody mary, and it was VERY spicy, but good. I also had steak and scrambled eggs. The eggs were just okay, and the steak was tasty. The sides were a stuffed tomato and french fries.... The french fries were good, but nothing you can't get in the freezer section of your grocery store. All in all this place was decent for brunch. I wasn't impressed, but I wasn't disappointed either. To me, the meal was not worth what was paid.

I saved BLT for my last night in MIami. I walked in at 10:29pm on Friday night and spotted a few open seats at the bar. Unfortunately, the maitre'd told me the kitchen was closed for the night. I had high expectations, and none of them were met.

We had brunch at this Miami version of BLT Steak. The popovers are simply delicious. They serve an entire breakfast in a large, flaky, delicious popover by halving it and then then filling it with gruyere, ham, spinach, poached egg, and topped with hollandaise. It is served with a side of bacon and breakfast potatoes. It's an absolutely delicious, savory breakfast that I would return for over and over. The restaurant is located in the lobby of the beautiful Betsy Hotel and provides a nice, energetic atmosphere with views of South Beach's public beach and the ocean.

Since my name is Betsy, I REALLY wanted to check this place out. My husband and I were coached to sit at the bar and have a burger because we weren't terribly hungry. We approached the bar and there were 4 seats available around the bar, however, none of the seats were together. After standing around OBVIOUSLY assuming SOMEONE would be gracious and move down, as we asked a server and a bartender if we could EAT AT THE BAR...within earshot of the patrons hogging the bar...NOT one person moved. Having been in the hospitality industry my entire life, if that was me bartending...I would have asked folks to move down to accommodate us. Uh...the more people that sit and EAT at my bar...the more tips I make, right? Well, no one moved, so we headed back to the front desk and asked to be seated in the diningroom...we wanted burgers. They don't serve burgers in the diningroom. We would have to sit at the bar...OR...the lounge...RIGHT NEXT TO THE BAR. We headed back to the lounge beside the bar and had the most AMAZING burger ever. We also had a delicious, well prepared salad. THE BEST PART, though...was the Cheesy POPOVERS they brought us with butter. PERFECTLY executed. HUGE and Crisp on the outside with a delicate, eggy inside. Our server Rosia was adorable and gave us 5 star service. Had the bartender accommodated us, I would have given this place 5 stars.

I came here with friends for the Miami spice menu. We all had such a wonderful time. The hotel itself is gorgeous. The service was completely on point. In Miami spice menu is generous and very flavorful. We included the wine flight and it was the best decision ever. The wines were paired perfectly, with generous pours, and tasteful. I suggest going with a small group that way you can try a variety of sides. I was very happy with this restaurant and will recommend it to friends.

The pate that arrives warm to your table is reason alone for 5 stars. Ask to hold on to your pate to spread on the fresh popovers that arrive next! The short ribs are delicious and plentiful. There is about 12-16 oz of meat and perfect for sharing. The sweet potato with bacon brittle is divine. Called to get a last minute reservation and was told it was booked. Walked in and was seated in 15 seconds. Don't take no for an answer and make this restaurant a must go!

I give this restaurant 5 starts simply based on the most amazing popover I have ever eaten. The only problem is because the popover is served before the meal, I was almost too full after eating it to finish everything I ordered! Nestled in the boutique Betsy Hotel, this restaurant overlooks the beach. The ambience would have been lovely, but unfortunately, my friend and I came during Spring Break apparently, and I have never seen so many butts in my life. Gross. This fact alone should have made the meal unappetizing, but the food was so delicious that I was able to overlook the disgusting college students. The tomato and burrata salad was delicious, and our server talked me into ordering a ribeye (I usually stick with a filet), and I was very impressed. It literally melted in my mouth. Too bad I was already stuffed from the outstanding popover that was served as the bread course. The bbq corn and jalapeno mashed potatoes were much more creative and fun than sides you would find at a traditional steakhouse. Loved it! Can't wait to go back, although I will NOT be back mid-March.

I have been here twice. Each time was very good. Nice outside dining for people watching. Great service. But very expensive. I guess it has to be expensive as it sits on Ocean Drive in South Beach at a posh hotel. The first time with family - the 4 of us cost over $600. Second time was during the Miami Spice (discounts or set meals at select restaurants in Miami/Miami Beach). Party of 4 = $395.

The experience we had at the BLT steak was far from impressive. The meal is ok though a bit overpriced. The service was poor. We ordered a tuna tartar among some other dishes and they forgot about it. Then forgot to bring beer and we had to remind. Missed soya sauce to bring with sushi. Overall is pretty disappointing experience.

I'm just going to do bullet points for this one. -Tuna Tartare- 5 stars this is a definite order. It's cubed pieces of Tuna that are not mushy nor luke warm [this bugs me to no end]. The bowl it's served in comes on a bed of ice to keep it nice and cold! -Outside dining- they also have inside but when it's Feb in Miami and it's not raining, you'd be a foul to sit inside -People Watching- always fun in South Beach -Service- great here too, very attentive and fast. [I didn't notice if they automatically include tip b/c I didn't pay the bill. MOST places in SoBe do so double check! -Grilled Chicken Salad- Good grilled chicken is not an easy sell. Their chicken was cooked just right, not over cooked, not dry, and def not like shoe leather. Salad was very good Would I go back-Yes

Such a beautiful restaurant, and yet it fell short with regard to service. The food met basic fine dining standards ... The pop overs were unexpected in size and tasted good, the raw tuna was fresh and the steaks were adequate. Sadly the service was slow and lacking. Our waiter was stiff and uninformative with regard to explanation about portion size and how the meal would flow. When paying these prices we expect better service and more education from the staff. We walked away disappointed and will not be back.

Dined at the BLT on three separate days and every time the food was delicious. Each meal starts with a Gruyère Cheese Popover. A warm bread popover which just melts in your mouth. It goes well with butter and sea salt. Day 1 Lunch: Chicken Caesar's salad was excellent. The chicken was perfectly grilled and very juicy. The green fresh. I loved the salad and the portion was perfect. Chopped Vegetable salad with Shrimp was delicious too. They used jumbo shrimps which were perfectly seasoned and the entire salad was just scrumptious. Day 2 Sunday Brunch: French toast - Not the best one I have eaten but definitely the BIGGEST. It's absolutely huge and delicious. It does get too much and too sweet for one person. Is perfect for sharing. The scrambled eggs were well done. They were tasty and served with a side of fruits and toast. I enjoyed it. Chicken Panini was delicious and comes with a portion of french fries. It was grilled well and tasty. Day 3 Lunch: Tuna tartare: very fresh and full of flavors. It's served with avocado and soy-lime dressing. The five spice asian salad with chicken was flavorful but very spicy. Spicier than average. Be careful when you order that salad. It's loaded with small green chillies chopped very finely. Dragon Eel teriyaki with avocado and cucumber- Fresh and absolutely scrumptious! Overall a great place to dine with good food and an excellent location on Ocean avenue.

Probably the best option to dine-in at Ocean Drive othed than tge restaurant at the Versace House. The service is A+, but I must say I was a little unpleased by the receptionist staff Went here for Valentines and our table was not on the main dining room, dissapointed at first. They took us to a discreet lounge area behind the bar that was accomodated for the occasion. At first I didn't know if they were hidding us but we weren't the only ones, there were anothe 6 couples there. At the end it ended being better. The wife and I were able to have a nice conversation and enjoy our meals. While the main dining room is in the main lobby of The Betsy Hotel, there is nothing special about it. If you ask me it looks like an upscale hotel caferia and does not go well with what you pay. RED Steakhouse, Capital Grill, Morton's, and even Gotham Steakhouse, whuch closed have better decor. The CAB Ribeye was good but not great, large 22 oz. The dessert however was AMAZING, chocolate muse with chocolate cake and maracuya frosting amazing no words for it. The service was AMAZING props to Rachel shes is great!!!!

I came with my mom and sister and had an amzing experience from the moment we arrived. Carlos, our server, was phenomenal, it's very rare to have a server as detail oriented and excellent as he is in Miami, let alone SoBe. The ceviche is without a doubt the best I've ever had; it's made fresh everyday and to the order, who can top that? The sushi is amazing as well, we had one roll with coconut shrimp and almonds and another one with spicy tuna. As our entree we had wagyu steak which was exquisite, accompanied by bbq corn, baked potato, frird green tomatoes, and jalapeño mashed potatoes. For dessert we had mango panni cotta, peanut butter and chocolate mousse, citrus. It was all so fantastic! I can't wait to go again!!

Hip dining spot in a great location ! Servers were very attentive, although a tad snobbish. Notable wine list, fantastic steaks and sides. Popovers are a must and we enjoyed the chicken pate delivered to the tables with our drinks. Outdoor patio is available as well as street side dining- recommend a reservation, but we walked into the dining room at 9pm on a Sunday evening.

We had a party of 10 and this didn't seem to phase them. They never missed a beat with their service. I didn't care much for the pate, but I believe that is because I do not like pate most of the time. It was a little strong for my liking. However, the ginormous muffins they brought us made up for it for sure! These muffins were crunchy on the outside and like moist pound cake on the inside without the sweetness and topped with Gruyere cheese. I ordered the filet and it was cooked perfect. They paired it with three types of mustards and two other sauces. Now, granted, the steak was good enough to be a stand alone steak. However, add the sauces and it melted in your mouth. The mustards were fantastic and the sauces were, as well. The wine list is superb.

Wow! What an experience it was dining here. Expensive, yes...but worth it? Absolutely!!! We started off with these delicious popovers. For those of you who like yorkshire pudding/know what that is, its kinda like that but puffier and yummier! My husband and I split the Wagyu beef. One of the best steaks I've ever had! We also had jalapeno infused mashed potatoes and asparagus! We split a bottle of wonderful Shiraz with another couple. We also had a bite of their scalloped potatoes (OMG...delish!). Our server did an amazing job. There was also a guy (I'm not sure what his title is), but although he wasn't our server, he told us all about the menu and wines, and was super knowledgeable :). Loved it, loved it, loved it!!

Love the Betsy so Miami Spice gave us a great excuse to give BLT a try. First off, I really like the complimentary goose liver pate and the popovers. The popovers are huge and the gruyere cheese top is awesome. I love the fact they give a little recipe card so make them at home. I'm certainly inspired to start baking! We had to send both of our steaks back- I won't go into detail but apparently there was a problem with the packaging/ shipment. The manager Marco was very apologetic and embarrassed. He bought us a round of drinks and offered to comp one of our meals. The BF opted to get a filet instead since steak is what we came for. I chose the snapper and was not disappointed. The fish was moist, flaky and I loved the sauce. The filet mignon was very good and what you'd expect from a steakhouse. The sides were only so so, the jalapeno mashed potatoes were smooth and not too spicy but nothing to brag about. The baby bok choi was good but not great. It was a bit bland and too oily. As for dessert, the bourbon banana cake was great. I loved that it was served warm with a side of ice cream. The chocolate mousse was a nice portion size but again, not noteworthy as it came to flavor. The complimentary mini orange blossom madeleines were heavenly and I would easily buy a bag of those. BLT gets three stars for food and an extra star for the great service we received.

Delicious dinner started with warm popovers and ended with fantastic key lime panna cotta, served with orange blossom madeleines that were also warm from the oven. In between we enjoyed a wonderful dinner - NY strip steak for one and blackened swordfish for the other, as well as a baby spinach salad and grilled asparagus to share. A home run!

I stayed at the Betsy Hotel in September 2013 and BLT is the restaurant at the hotel. I had breakfast here the first morning of my stay. It was disappointing from the start; BLT did not allow for substitutions. I eat a gluten free diet and try to stay away from starches. When I asked for a little extra salad (that came with my meal) in lieu of potatoes and the toast, my waiter said he was more than happy to hold the potatoes and toast, but couldn't offer extra salad or any substitutions. The WORST experience at BLT came at lunch. They have a pre-fix menu I was offered, but when I went to order I was told that the pre-fix had ended at 3pm (It was just after 3). I told the waiter it was really awful service that they couldn't just honor the pre-fix and that I wanted to speak to the manager, however I was told that the manager was too busy. I pressed our waiter on getting the pre-fix and our waiter, Marco, worked with the kitchen and was able to have the pre-fix served. Honestly, if it wasn't for Marco working his magic and reversing a bad situation I would have just left with my friends, but he apologized made things right and gave us great service. Marco even hailed a cab for us later that night, apologized again and recommended a couple of hot spots for us to check out. We had brunch here the last day of our stay (I know I'm a masochist) and first ordered the hanger steak. After taking my order the waitress returned to let me know that they were out of hanger steak. I ordered a fish entree... same scenario, they were out of the fish. Finally on the third attempt I was able to order eggs. Thankfully, they still had eggs available for brunch. The food (when I was able to strong arm my way into getting any) was actually pretty tastey - but not as great as other places we went to eat at like Bazaar or Catch. Honestly, pass this one up. Its only worth a visit if you're staying at the hotel get Marco as your waiter and don't want to leave the hotel to get something to eat elsewhere. If you don't need a solid breakfast, there's a Starbucks across the street, which I recommend you go to for a light breakfast.

Modern American steakhouse that understands steak & pretty good at seafood and chicken too. Love this place, never disappoints. If they have a prixe fixe menu, take advantage of it. Make reservations they get booked pretty quickly. Great place for a night out type of meal. Wait staff is friendly and knowledgeable.

awesome restaurant! I had dinner here as part of a group in town for a meeting. Everything was awesome. I'm not a huge sushi person, but it was outstanding. We ordered several dishes for the table and all were awesome. Great environment as well! Was't wild about South Beach in general but this restaurant was really worth the visit!

My hubby and I went to the BLT to enjoy the day before the end of the Miami Spice 2012 season. We chose right, this place was awesome! As soon as we sat down they brought us chicken liver pate with bread and pickled veggies. Let me tell you that I don't do liver anything, but this pate was delicious. It was fresh, creamy, rich goodness that went great with the bread and veggies. My hubby loved it so much that he wanted to have it for dessert, which was fine with me since I don't share dessert :) Then they brought us the popovers. I cannot begin to describe how good these puffy concoctions are. They are crunchy outside and soft and warm inside. They have a slight taste of gruyere cheese. My hubby ate them with the pate while I smeared butter all over them. (mmmmm....). I was happy and we hadn't even gotten out main meal yet! Since BLT is a steakhouse, I thought I couldn't go wrong with the crispy pork belly for my appetizer. It comes with soba noodles, marinated mushrooms and bacon miso dressing. The pork belly was good and so were the marinated mushrooms and bacon miso dressing. I have to say that the soba noodles were a little disappointing because they detracted from the other really yummy ingredients. For his appetizer my hubby ordered the salmon ceviche with hearts of palm, red onion, key lime, corn nuts and fresh tortilla chips. I thought he was crazy for ordering fish at a steakhouse, but to my surprise, his appetizer was better than mine. So, I had to do the only reasonable thing and eat it too! (He's a rookie!). This was the first time I had salmon ceviche and I hope it's not the last one. Besides, my poor hubby needs to try it sometime :) For our entrees we both ordered the 10 oz dry aged cab delmonico with smoke marinade and tomatillo chimichurri. The steaks were amazing, perfectly cooked, juicy, tender, and flavorful, even without the chimichurri or the bernaise sauce we had on the side. For our sides we had the jalapeno mashed potatoes and the summer corn. To me, the jalapeno mashed potatoes are a must if you go to the BLT. You can taste the jalapeno but it is not overpowering or too spicy. We also had the summer corn succotash with confit tomatoes, fresno chili relish, favas, and vidalia onion soubise. I liked it but I don't think I will order it again. Sorry, I just like the jalapeno mashed potatoes that much (also, on past occasions we have ordered the truffle fries, which are deliciously crispy and sprinkled with a bit of parmigiano-reggiano cheese; these should be on the menu). To finish off our meal we ordered both dessert selections on the Miami Spice Menu. For his own safety, our waiter was very careful in making sure that both desserts were in front of me and that my hubby didn't get a spoon (he also removed all sharp objects in my vicinity). For people who prefer their desserts not too sweet, then the perfect choice is the PB & J cheesecake with grape gelee, and rosemarie shortbread. However, I like my desserts sticky sweet , so I truly enjoyed the chai s'mores with graham blondie and dulce de leche ice cream. In fact, I wouldn't mind having another one right now :) The graham blondie is crunchy and comes covered with creamy milk chocolate and two roasted marshmallows on top. Alongside you get a scoop of dulce de leche (you can never go with dulce de leche), crumbled blondie, and more melted chocolate. (Yummy...) Girl scouts beware! In addition to these desserts, they brought us complimentary madelaines. Mmmm...I love anything with lime so these were just perfect for me. In fact I brought some of them home for my 3:00 a.m. cravings (no, I'm not pregnant, just very hungry) and I am guarding them from my dogs who cannot take their eyes off of them. If you are a carnivore and want to have an unforgettable meal, head to the BLT at the Betsey Hotel. You will not be disappointed.

Top of the notch! This is my new favorite place. It takes me a lot to feel overall infactuated with a restaurant, but BLT Steakhouse was able to hold my interest. We came on a Thursday night with the plan to try the August 2012 Miami Spice menu. The treat was fully on our side. Tummy and palate felt extremely satisfied. Marco our server made us feel as if the entire restaurant was spinning around us. Talk about feeling special! He made excellent recommendations, perhaps at times tried to sell one drink too many, but i guess that is his job afterall... They started us off with some chicken liver pate served in a fancy jar, with a side of pickled veggies and rustic charred bread slices. I am not particularly crazy of any organ foods, but gave this a try nevertheless. Not my favorite, but pro was that it did not have a strong liver flavor. As further sampler Marco brought us some mini fish tacos. How lovely was that! The popovers are their trademark and oh yes, they are worth every gram of calories - please enjoy them with the all the butter you can get and the salt provided. If you don't miss it, you will find the BLT Steakhouse Popover recipe on the serving plate. Nice touch! For 39$ I got: Appetizer: Duck Confit on sticky tempura rice. The portion was substantial and the flavors were bold. Entree: Pan seared Branzino on a bed of fennel and green tomatoes - oh so good! The fennel was cooked perfectly. I expected the green tomatoes to be served as a sauce but they chop it up. I would have preferred them as a sauce to dip in my fish. Side: Stacked potenta with Parmesan and Truffle- OMG! they serve it in a small cast iron pan - how neat! Dessert: This one hit me by surprise. I thought they would just give us a mouse and ice cream, but I was so wrong. The chocolate cortadito mouse was better with each spoon full. I could not stop eating it. It was layered with chocolate ganage and crunchyness that left me wanting more..even though I know I shouldn't. The strawberry creamsicle was light and reminded me of a brisk summer day through and through. BLT Steakhouse at the Betsy has charm and character and is a must-try place.

We ordered a Caesar Salad and the Porterhouse for Two with Mashed Potatoes, as well as the Crepe Souffle. I give the restaurant a 5 for service, 3.5 for food, and 4 for ambience. The service was very good: the waiters were very courteous and humorous. The food was overly seasoned. The Porterhouse was too salty, although the texture was perfect. The Caesar had too much dressing on it, and tasted fishy because of anchovies. The crepe soufflé was huge, but not anything special and certainly the sauce was a little too sweet. Overall, however, the food and service was good for the price (~65 per person). Very convenient location on South Beach as well.

I absolutely love the BLT at the Betsy. It is the only restaurant I go to on Ocean Drive. It really is the diamond in the rough. I go at least once a week for breakfast and it is perfect for business meetings. They have a beautiful outside dining on the porch and the inside decor is great. It is always tough to decide between the croque madame or the croque monsieur. It is the perfect French breakfast even though I wish they would serve fruit vs a salad with the meal but that is okay because I always take it home and have it for lunch. The little potatoes are perfect with ketchup. Coming from the Midwest I love that they make gruyere popovers. They are the best I have ever had. They also have a great wine selection. They have some very experienced servers working and hopefully you will be lucky to have one wait on you.

I stayed at the Betsy for 4 nights and it was a pleasant experience. It was a solo trip--I should have only stayed for 2-3 nights. The food was fantastic. I had everything from their Tuna Tartar, to their Wagyu skirt flank. My favorite was the chicken liver patte that was served as a complimentary gesture on all nights. Their cheese bread puff was great but I kept it to a few small bites. The concierge and generally the staff were pleasant and quick to please to my demands. House keeping were nice and sweet. The only complaint was on my last night-- the other room played club music until 7 in the morning. Seriously? I phoned to the front desk but they didn't do anything about it. Conclusion: I'll be returning. Adam was the coolest concierge. oh yeah, the beach is a 1min walk--you can charge the umbrella/towel/chair to your room but it's 16 a day.. i wasn't expecting that.

We came to this restaurant for dinner. Before they served our food we got complimentary pate with toasted bread and also the waitress brought us their famous popovers. The pate was incredible and popovers were delicious (the restaurant even gives you a small recipe of these popovers so you can make them at home). We ordered Local Snapper which was amazing and melting in your mouth, and NY Strip was ok. The only reason the restaurant didn't get 5 stars is because when we came in we requested to be seated outside. The hostess stated that there are no available tables, although there were plenty and there were still plenty by the time we left. When we asked why would that might be the hostess told us they were for reservations. Overall, it was a great experience at the table: food, wine selection, and espresso bar.

The Betsy Hotel is just lovely! Its a Southern classic gem compared to its older art-deco neighbors on Ocean Drive. The interior is calm and modern. The pool looked a little small. BLT is located inside the hotel in the lobby area on the left hand side. My boyfriend and I had lunch here over the weekend. The service is exceptional but not too stuffy. We had the avocado/yellow tail roll to start, then I had the burger and my boyfriend had the swordfish sandwich. My burger was huge and delicious. The sushi was surprisingly fresh! And I've never seen my boyfriend eat something so fast. He wolfed his sandwich down before I could even take a bite into my burger. He said it was absolutely delicious. The fries are heavenly too! I've had the steak at BLT before too and its do die for. But it was lunch, so we had burgers. :) I would say its probably the best food and best service on Ocean Drive. A lot of the neighboring restaurants with the lights, umbrellas and loud music have really bad quality food from my experience. :/

This review is easy. The food and service were excellent from the sushi app to the popovers to the steaks! The carrot cake was a little strange but tasted good for dessert. The wine is a tad overpriced and not chilled quite right but good.

We were not impressed. The hostess let us look at the menu with condescension and we decided to sit outside with our dog. We sat, waited for more than 10 minutes. We left.

We dined here last night ( 3/15/14). Amazing food!!! I had vegetable sushi, filet mignon, and baked potato. Best food I've had in a long time. Dessert was caramelized cheesecake. Just fabulous. Probably one of few restaurants in Miami Beach that is actually worth the money. Great value. Will definitely be back!

We went here Sunday night for dinner. We had 8 o'clock reservations, arrived at 7:45 and we're seated promptly. It was a very nice night, not very humid so we actually got to sit outside. The service was impeccable & the food was impeccable. As soon as we seated we were offered different types of water and wine we chose ice tapwater and we both had a glass of Sauvignon Blanc/semilon mixture from French which was delicious. We were served a chicken liver pate with a plate of pickled vegetables and some country bread toast and then we were serve the most delicious popovers ever. We ordered off the Miami spice menu. I had a salmon tartare over an avocado mousse with minced garlic and some other amazing seasonings as my appetizer my girlfriend had a plum and beet with Ricota cheese salad. For my entrée I had black grouper and my girlfriend had steak. For a side dish we both chose cauliflower au gratin which was just amazing with the best cheese and cheese sauce and the cauliflower was cooked perfectly just a little crunch not overcooked. For dessert we had a plum upside down cake and a pistachio chocolate mousse cheesecake and again they were both unbelievable. I can't wait to go back & order off the regular menu. This restaurant is at the top of our list five stars all the way around.

The wait staff is fabulous - Food is outrageously good & definitely worth the money. We came here on a Wednesday night, were seated promptly & the people couldn't have been more courteous & attentive. Definitely a plus. I wasn't a fan of the chicken liver pâté but my boyfriend enjoyed it. We highly enjoyed the popovers which came with a recipe card to make at home - awesome!! We had the 8&12 oz filets which were tender enough to cut without a knife. Cooked impeccably inside & out. For sides we had BBQ corn & fontina baked potato. Corn was awesome but potato was super burnt on the outside, inside was great though. The chef even sent out complimentary dessert- homemade Madeline's which were out of this world. Highly recommend to anyone in the Sobe area. Worth the money. Miguel was a fabulous part of the wait staff on point at every turn, definitely better than our waitress was but it didn't ruin the evening.

I had a disappointing steak at blt Miami on April 12. We ordered the Porterhouse for two. The steak was very tough and difficult to cut and eat. I may have said something to the waiter but he never checked back with us after delivering the meal. Near the end, I just wanted to leave

This and Red are the best steaks in miami beach by far. They let us bring in 4 bottles of wine when the max is typically 2 so they are very accommodating. The popovers and chicken liver that are on the house are amazing. Even their sushi is great.

So you've had a mild case of a wild Miami night on Saturday and now it is Sunday and you need to fight that hangover and freshen up before hitting South Beach? Well BLT Steak at Betsy Hotel is a great option and worth considering. Located on Ocean drive, you can just have your brunch and walk across the street and enjoy the ocean and the beautiful Florida sun. The bread they serve prior to your food arriving is fantastic, very good texture and not too heavy on the stomach. However, if you come here, and you are a fan of Eggs Benedict, this place will have a lasting impression. The "BLT Popover" is a must have, and it is absolutely one of the top 3 Eggs Benedict I've had. If you like your eggs poached a certain way, make sure you let them know, because, by default, they will bring them medium for you. The American coffee is great, however they do not come to check for refills often. Pretty much anything you get is a good choice, however the pancakes aren't the best here. Then again, I hope you aren't coming here for pancakes. If the service was better, it would get a 5 star, but that is the only short coming of this establishment. It is not horrible, but it falls short of what you'd expect from such a place. Also a useful tip for you, don't valet your car here. Unless if you are not patient don't. It is a good option to valet your car here, so you don't have to look for parking on SoBe on a Sunday, eat your brunch, and visit the beach, then pick up your car. But the Ocean Drive traffic will yield to waiting for your car for around 15-20 minutes for valet to bring it back.

Visiting this restaurant was a very good experience. The hostess was very welcoming and friendly. We had reservations and she promptly took us table. The waitstaff was extremely helpful and efficient. Instead of bread they bring to the table delicious popovers! Both my husband and I had the filet. It was juicy, cooked to perfection, and overall perfect. I was very impressed with this first experience at BLT and we will definitely pay the restaurant another visit.

I wish the food would have matched the service. My steak and my wife's were over cooked. My wife sent hers back because it was crunchy and taste burnt. The onion rings too salty. I gave 3 stars because the service was exceptional. We are from LA where you can find the best of every type of cuisine. For us it was a great disappointment regarding the food.

They serve brunch - who knew? Not I...so I was happy to see Popover Poached Eggs on the menu. I sing the praises of those popovers wheneve I talk to a BLT Steak newbie, and this breakfast did not disappoint. It was made with thinly sliced ham, cheese, and just enough of delicious bechamel sauce. Served with home fries, roasted tomato, and bacon, it was well worth the calories. Located in Betsy Hotel on the quiet end of SoBe, great place to take a break from the from the sun and craziness. Service was very good, as expected.

My hubby took me out for an early birthday celebration. We wanted a good steak meal. After reading many reviews we were convinced that this was a definite must-try. First, I must say that we were less than impressed by the setting of BLT. By the pictures on their website you would think it was a large, enclosed chic restaurant. Rather than a casual lobby type setting. Fortunately, The Betsy, is a beautiful, well kept hotel with lots of charm and this made up for our lack of appeal to the eating environment. We had a drink at the bar. Our bartender was cordial and inviting and asked several times if we preferred to eat at the bar. Wanting a more private feel to our evening, we moved over to the restaurant for our reservation. We were greeted by an overly friendly waitress who spent most of our night talking to the patrons at the table next to ours. On to the food, the popovers arrived warm and crispy. Absolutely divine. We ordered the Cocktail Shrimp which was also very fresh. We then ordered the Bone-in Rib-Eye for two. We asked for Medium. The steak arrived raw. After several attempts we finally flagged down our waitress and she said she would have it fixed. It came back blackened on the outside but was still quite raw on the inside. At this point, we realized that they just weren't going to get it right and we were best off just eating what we could. We have eaten at a lot of steakhouses and a good steakhouse always gets it right the first time. That being said, is my reason for 3 stars. If you are going to call yourself a steakhouse and charge premium steakhouse prices, make sure you know the correct cooking temperatures of your steaks. Overall, we were not over the moon with BLT. Unfortunately, it was not all it was raved about.

This is my go-to for a romantic score! Table on the patio (not the sidewalk) either after sundown in sweltering summer or before dark in swinter. Bottle of wine and an empty stomach are all you need to be ready to wow your date.

1st impression was that the location was great, hotel was cute and restaurant was cool. However, the food.....I've had better. Cons: The Bone in Rib Eye was not cut well so it was rare, medium & well done. Parmesan Gnocchi Pros: Popovers BBQ Corn French Fries Potato Gratin With a name like BLT Steak, the STEAK should be what you go back for, but not here! Go for the ambiance, service and sides!

Great location in the Betsy Hotel right at the beginning of Ocean Avenue in South Beach. Had dinner there for four people and both the steak and fish were excellent. The service was very attentive and knowledgeable. Extensive wine list. A first class steakhouse with all the trimmings!

With all the dining out I do, it's rare to be stunned, floored, and altogether speechless over a meal. This, however, was my reaction 2 nights ago at BLT Steak. On any given night, you're likely to find a menu filled with all sorts of proteins, but during the month of October, BLT has something different in mind: Any diner ordering BLT Steak's Daily Black Board Menu, which includes an appetizer, main, side dish and dessert, will receive two complimentary glasses of wine, specially selected to accompany the appetizer and entrée courses. And paying homage to National Seafood Month, the October Black Board menu is set to feature Miami's freshest catches! In previewing the menu, I found myself diving into a marriage of otherworldly flavors, seemingly brought together with some version of effortlessness by Chef Samuel Gorenstein. This Colombian born, Miami raised youngster is really set to take center stage, and I wouldn't be surprised if his creations led him to Iron Chef status or James Beard recognition. As I'm eating the delicate and heavenly local yellow jack crudo, topped with thin radish slices, caramelized oranges and key lime dressing, I'm visibly impressed with the chef's poise and inventive approach to the culinary arts. The local triggerfish ceviche, chunky and tender clouds of delight topped with cilantro, serrano pepper slices, and citrus, proved to be a can't miss dish. For the hot entrees, the show-stopping array of salt crusted baked local hog snapper, pan roasted local mutton snapper and crispy local margate snapper "Cantonese" style, was absolutely divine. I recommend the crispy snapper if you're torn. Attention to detail didn't stop at the sides either. The hen of the wood mushrooms, crispy and tender asparagus, zippy green beans, and the throw-your-head-back-and-close-your-eyes jalapeno mash potatoes were just that. This was wholeheartedly an epicurean's utopia, but it was accessible too. Often, you'll find these dining experiences to be overly decorative, and throw in some cleverly dolloped sauces, the plates look more like an art project. Here, during October, the seafood is stellar. The best in Miami even, and Chef Gorenstein is committed to procuring only the freshest and finest catches from the fisherman he knows best. As for the wine, my favorites were the Italian Vermentino from Liguria and the Austrian Riesling from Kamptal.

A big disappointment. It started out great - the popovers are awesome, out of this world! but the rest of the food is far from it. Bland, lack of flavors and imagination, menu descriptions are often misleading. they managed to make pork belly taste bland -that's a special talent. And the desserts are simply awful - they win the prize for the worst tasting dessert I've had in a high-end place, or almost any place. stay away if you care about food.

This BLT Steak is located on the ground floor of the Betsy Hotel. Although it is also open for breakfast and lunch, this review is for their dinner. After dining a couple of times at the BLT Steak in Waikiki, I decided to take my girlfriend to this one for dinner. This location is every bit as good as the other one. We arrived in time for our 8:30 PM reservation and were greeted with a smile. Our friendly hostess seated us promptly. Unlike the Waikiki BLT which is separate from the Trump Hotel, this BLT Steak is pretty well integrated into the lobby floor of the Betsey Hotel. This makes for an interesting atmosphere with lots of tourists. The ambiance was overall good though. The service was excellent, which is what you would expect from a high end steakhouse. The steak was fantastic. We shared the Porterhouse for two (strip on one side of the bone, filet on the other side). It wasn't quite on par with the dry-aged Porterhouse steaks I've had at places like Alexander's or Carnevino, but it was excellent nonetheless, and right up there with the BLT in Hawaii. They cooked it perfectly at medium-rare (rarer on the filet side, which is great). The sides are on par with the Hawaii BLT Steak as well. I must say though, I'm a sucker for their popovers. They are HUGE, very tasty, and I could not stop eating mine. Make sure you save room for the steak though, that's what you came for!

We went here on our last night in Miami. What a great choice. We had the filet mignon with the mashed potatoes & green beans. Our steaks were cooked to perfection, sides were great and dessert was wonderful. I have to add the service was a step above, from the hostess to the waitstaff & managers. We sat outside and there was a scary guy that was coming toward us that had been harassing patrons, and the staff quickly escorted him away. The pricing is like any high end steak house, I thought it was fair. If your looking for a cheap place, try somewhere else. I also thought it was cute they give you a card with the popover recipe on it. Thank you to the staff for being so wonderful.

AWESOME. The food here is AMAZING. The decor and atmosphere are wonderful. The service is attentive, friendly, and right on point. Presentation is beautiful and creative. Lunch on saturday. Great experience, great food but slow service. Pop overs are very good, I can't deny. We ordered the cuban sandwich, chicken & sundried tomatoes panini, the burger and the tuna tartar. I got the chicken & sundried tomatoes panini. Although it is actually not served with sundried tomatoes but regular tomatoes, it was very good. Big portion, with avocado, fresh mozzarella, onions and lettuce. There is also hard boiled egg but it asked without. All sandwiches were served with delicious big crispy fries. Everybody was very happy with their food. The tartar was very fresh and tasty, yet a little bit small. Service is slow, we had to wait quite a while. But overall, great tasty lunch and I can't wait to go back.

Last year I had one of the finest dining experiences of my life here. One year later, I'm sad to report that our lunch was merely mediocre. Big disappointment after having such fond memories. This go around we sat outside. Service was not the issue, the gruyere popovers topped with sea salt were still phenomonal and the drinks were spot on. For cocktails I tried the Lincoln Road (wildberry vodka, creme de mure, passionfruit and blackberry) served in a martini glass. Perfect cure for the July heat AND my hangover from the previous night. My bf had the Mr. Black (Hendrick's Gin, St, Germain, sage simple syrup and cucumber). He can be a bit picky with his cocktails but he sure enjoyed this one. For lunch though we had ordered a Cuban Sandwich with provolone and garlic fries for $16 and the Spider Roll (can't remember the exact price but it was between $15-$18). The fries were the highlight by far and honestly, they weren't THAT special. I've had WAY better cubans at our local cafeteria for a quarter of the price and the spider roll was, ewww. Don't get me wrong, I ate it but I didn't ENJOY it. What a let down. Maybe it has something to do with the new chef... Bill came to around $75.00 To tell you the truth, we probably won't be back...

Wow. I waited years to sink my teeth into a Porterhouse for two at BLT Steak in South Beach. And what an experience I had with my girlfriend here. Just perfect from start to finish! We both agreed that hands down, that was the best meal we had on vacation in Miami. I made an Open Table reservation for prime-time on a busy March Friday night, and we were seated promptly at a very nice, quiet corner table. We were positioned so that we could view both the restaurant as well as the exterior, which faces Ocean Drive, and naturally, the Atlantic Ocean. Our waiter, Danny, was extremely professional and attentive, and his name will pop up several times in this review to exemplify precisely why he helped make this meal so special. We started by ordering two glasses of Layer Cake 2007 Malbec Argentina (one of my favorites). This is my only gripe here - the wine was not listed by the bottle on the menu but if I ordered a whole bottle, they would charge for 5 glasses. I have always found that typical price-scaling at restaurants is usually a 3.5 time multiplier from glass to bottle price for wine. Needless to say the decision to order just two glasses was the right one, because the one glass of wine lasted both of us for the entire meal. And, the wine was served to us promptly, as was every other item we ordered, everything was timed just perfectly! Freebies at table were: chicken liver pate with toasted bread. Jess doesn't like chicken liver, but I thought it was very good. Jess tasted a little bit of the chicken liver and even she agreed it was pretty good. That's an impressive feat! The other freebie was the popovers. Jeez, I'm not even sure if I can adequately describe how good these popovers were. They were golden brown, with warm creamy batter inside that pretty much tasted like pancakes. With a little butter, those popovers were simply orgasmic. We fought hard not to fill up on those because they were H-U-G-E!!! We split the chopped vegetable salad. First, this thing was massively large, even too much for two people, although Danny indicated while he served the salad onto our individual plates (again, another nice touch of exemplary service) that perhaps his prep chefs went a little overboard with the sizing of our particular salad. No complaints about that! The salad was fresh and refreshing. Crisp lettuce, corn, avocado, cucumber, and much more! Now for the best part - the Porterhouse for two, med-rare, was absolutely fantastic. The steak itself was so perfectly juicy that Jess and I thought the sauces were not even needed. The charred outside had so much flavor, not overly buttered like many steakhouses tend to do, and the temperature was just right. For a side, we ordered the jalepeno mashed potatoes. That stuff was freaking ridiculous... found myself licking the serving spoon just to not waste a single bit of it! It was served in a cute black iron crockpot. Nice touch! The meal was so large that we couldn't handle a dessert, although the dessert options looked fantastic. I did order a cup of coffee and my date ordered a double shot of espresso. As with everything else, both were served promptly. We were not rushed by our waiter Danny at all, we didn't feel pressure to order any additional items, he just made the experience great. He also made additional suggestions for other restaurants in the area that we may like. The meal was finished off with some orange zest cakes. Quite enjoyable and a nice finishing touch. The next morning, while relaxing at the Shore Club pool, I ate the remaining cold pieces of steak that we brought in a doggy bag. Never in my life did I ever imagine that cold steak could taste so good, since I've never eaten it that way before. All I could say was "Oh my God" as I nibbled on those juicy little nuggets of prime cut fillet and NY strip by the pool. Oh and I almost forgot! Our waiter, Danny got a nice tip from us on this bill. Mainly because this was the ONLY restaurant in South Beach that does NOT automatically include the service charge on the bill. This IS the reason for the phenomenal service here (and one of the few places where we really did receive phenomenal service) because the wait staff has to work for their tips. Excellent policy that BLT has here, Danny worked hard and I believe he was rewarded well as I gave him over 25%. I cannot say enough good things about BLT Steak. My girlfriend looked absolutely stunning that night; we planned a special evening out in South Beach and BLT made it so that our night was just perfect. I will certainly return to BLT every year! This has been a review by Doug and Jess...

This is the ONLY place I will go on Ocean Drive! Beautiful setting, great service and amazing food! It has it all! Hot popovers are delicious, oysters are always heavenly, and tuna tartare is also a must! Of course the steaks are amazing and I love the jalapeño mashed potatoes...Some how I've never had desert! Hmmm I need to fix that ;) Great bar and great line list also!

To get 5 stars you guys need to work much more harder. Nice place at the Besty Ross hotel I believe, seating right on the Ocean rd in Miami beach. I came here one late night to have a light dinner with my brother, we order a lobster salad which it was good and then we had a plate with oyster-scallops-mussels, not bad. Service I wish it was better Coming back - probably.

We ate breakfast here two mornings and really enjoyed it. The setting is great and both the food and service were excellent. The "BLT" with poached eggs and Holladaise sauce was excellent and the Croque Monsier was also very good. The fresh grapefruit juice hit the spot. My wife enjoyed her omelettes both days. They had a exhibit of casual photographs of the Stones and The Beatles in the hotel, so wander through for a look.

It very hard to find a restaurant in Miami with great food and excellent service... well, we finally found one! Jennifer (our server) made our dining experience unforgettable! Everything she recommended from wine to side dishes was excellent ! Our steaks were perfectly cooked. BLT is by far our favored steak house because of Jennifer. Definitely coming back for more!

BLT by far is my favorite restaurant for Miami Spice this year. So much so that I went twice! I tried the branzino and delmonico steak, both were amazing. The 10 oz. steak alone was worth the $39 for Miami Spice. Both were cooked to perfection, although my branzino was a little too salty the first time around. I tried the barbecued corn, jalapeño mashed potatoes and the polenta, all delicious. The jalapeño mashed potatoes were a little too eerily green for me at first, but I fell in love upon first bite. You can really taste the jalapeño flavor in it. I thought ordering barbecued corn would be a little boring, but when my friend ordered it and gave me a taste, I instantly regretted ever underrating it. The chocolate cortadito was sinfully rich and the strawberry creamsicle wasn't the greatest, but not enough for me to bump any stars off this review. In addition to the stuff you get for Miami Spice, BLT also includes free chicken liver pate with these amazing pickled vegetables that are to die for. Not to mention the ginormous popover bread with fresh butter and mini madeleine cookies with your dessert. What's not to love?! Definitely want to go back to try the rest of their menu. Ambience and service was also great!

AMAZING! My experience at BLT is always a luxurious one. The staff seated me early while I wait for my mom (who was 30 min late.) Although the restaurant was fully booked, they never rushed me. We recently ordered the Miami spice lunch menu...then went back for the dinner. Food: flavorful, fresh, whimsical, contrasting favors, "top chef" quality Ambiance: sleek, minimalistic, reminds me of a Brazilian get away Service: incredible, the slightest eyebrow raise of concern (for example: where is the extra plate?!) and serves came pacing right over! The chef "presents" as I like to call them were plentiful, gratis, and wittily complimentary to the meal! What I recommend off of the Miami spice: 1. Compressed watermelon with duck prosciutto 2. 10 oz steak (of course!) 3. Corn with bacon (soooo good) 4. Strawberry cake thing. (came with sponge cookies on the side) To wrap it up... Whether you live in south beach or are just visiting BLT steak is a Must on the dining list!

Wonderful Ocean Drive location. The standard menu is ala carte and very expensive. However, I was able to take advantage of the prix fixe Miami spice menu. For my first course, I had the watermelon/tomato salad, which had tons of fresh basil and red onion. What a great medley of flavors! My main course was spice rubbed chimichurri skirt steak and barbeque corn. The steak was unbelievable! The corn was pretty darn good too! For dessert, I got the mango cheesecake, which came with mango sorbet. A perfect end to a great dinner!

Everything I had here was delicious-the steak, the bbq corn, the chocolate mousse, the complimentary pate and freshly baked popovers. Everything was huge too, so bring an appetite.

We went for lunch. The Parmesan popovers were outrageous. We had the Quick menu of two items for $18. The salads and sandwiches were good. The French fries (a signature BLT item) were soggy.

My wife and i ate here on August 12th, 2013 in the evening. This reservation was made for us by the DC Management team. We were taken care of by Ewa Ferguson, who is the AGM of the restaurant. I have eaten 3 times before in the DC location, so we are quite familiar with the good food. This restaurant is slighlty different as they serve breakfast. lunch and dinner since they are in the Betsy hotel, a little boutique hotel on Ocean Drive. Since the restuarnt knew we were coming and taken care of by Ewa they had a sample of different appetizers for us to munch on before our entrees. We had a small amount of grilled cheese with a goat cheese and toast points, a charcurterie plate and a small amount of pickled vegetables. All of this was very good and much appreciated. Our server was Vanessa, a young lady originally form Brazil who took care of us. My wife ordered the three course inclusive meal with a dessert. I had the duck and we ordered 2 side dishes. One was the onion rings and the other was the green beans. Upon receiving the entree we received additional sides of the jalapeno mashed potatoes and the grilled corn. These were very good sides. The corn is very addictive and a must for a side. The Jalapeno mashed potatoes have a slight spiciness to them, but we were much appreciated to have these additionally given to us. For dessert we had some petit fors and the peanut butter chocolate mousse. There was no additional charge for the desserts. Ewa checked on us to see how we enjoyed the Miami restaurant to the Dc one and I told her that the service is excellent and the food was very good. I would definitely recommend this restaurant if you like steak or duck or fish, all prepared very well. The atmosphere is nice as well, it is casual and laid back and in a boutique hotel. If you are in the area and do not mind spending a bit as it is pricey, then I would definitely recommend BLT Steak Miami. Thank you

friends insisted on lunch here and was glad for it. aside from the fab cheese popovers, 5spice chicken salad and delicious iced coffee, the Betsy was a welcome respite from the hot sun and boom-boom miami music fest.

Went her for brunch today. Food: good Service: adequate Drinks: Good, but very expensive Coffee: not good and very expensive bill for 3 was over $200 with coffee and a couple drinks per person, we were very surprised to see the tab. We had: Steak and Eggs, French Toast, the Popover breakfast... all were good, but again the drinks and the coffee were quite overpriced, especially since my bloody mary was only average.

for 2 it was $220 including tip glass of red wine $25 beer -- $8 (had to send cosmo back) service impeccable, note our bill was wrong (to high by $40) out door seating - very nice 12oz filet -- wonderful beat salad -- wonderful rib eye -- fair/poor (for the same money get the filet) hash browns -- good.. BUT very small (think 2 tator tots) signature pop overs -- wonderful coffee -- not hot, to strong so i'd give it a fair (lemon cookies excelent ) ps. wife reviewed this write up and said it was fair

I LOVED BLT Steak. I have to deduct a star for ambiance and service. Ambiance 2 stars - The restaurant is situated in the lobby of the Betsy hotel. It's very bright and not at all what you would expect a high end restaurant to look like. I was put off by it. Service 1 star - Our waitress, was awkward and not attentive at all. There were people who came in after us got their menus and food promptly, which was not the case with us. Food 5 stars - The popovers are delish. They give you a card with the recipe that I fully intend to try. I ordered the waygu and my hubby got the snapper. Steak is definitely the way to go in this joint. After tasting my steak he was kicking himself for getting fish. It was fantastic. We ordered Parmesan gnocchi and it was also delish. The portion is extremely small. Desert we got the crepe souffle and it was perfection!!!! I so wish I could order that again. Do not miss it!

Excellent food but the Service brings this to only 2 stars. We had the steak panini and the angus burger, they were absolutely delicious. The bread that they placed out before the meal was very good. Probably not returning here because of the bad service received, will go elsewhere along the beach side.

The food was really good. Our waiter was nice but a bit pushy. I think he got mad when we ordered the Miami spice menu. He kept trying to push us into ordering more, but at least he was not prickish about it. Usually I get paleo meal delivery from Primal Organic so I am used to grass-fed steak. I got a prime cut here and I must say it was delish. Loved the menus showing the different cuts and the board explaining everything. It is a little pricy but overall I would recommended going.

In short simply excellent, I've not given anywhere a 5 yet but I was on the verge of giving this place one. The only slight thing that let the place down was the waiter who was all megawatt fake smiles at the table but as soon as you weren't looking had a scowl on his face. This place is situated in the lobby area of the Betsy Hotel on Ocean Drive which has a cute bar area with an interesting array of cocktails. You can eat outside which I would recommend as the inside area looked a little dull. We had the NY Strips with a baked potato and the BBQ corn. The steaks were fantastic as was the baked potato. The potato is baked then I guess they scoop it out, add butter and bacon and put it back inside the skin - exceptional. The BBQ corn which was recommended by the waiter was an odd combination that in my opinion didn't work - it appeared to be corn, bacon and BBQ sauce mixed together. It didn't work for us and it got left at the side of the table like roadkill. They serve this "pop up" bread which looks like a huge cheese muffin but is hollow. That was an interesting and tasty spin on "normal" bread. I would definitely return and eat at this place or any of the others in the chain. It's now a firm favourite for me, even more so that Smith and Wollenskys which up until now was my fav chain.

well everything on OCEAN DRIVE DOES SUCK!!! valentines day 2012 a tues night...lets begin We walk in early for our 930 reservation; after they call us earlier in the day to tell us they will only hold our table for 15 min...to a half full restaurant's ask the hostess since you have 4-5 open table could you seat us early...answer no...I tell my bf I'm sure the same tables will be open when we are seated...20 min later the same tables are...again hostess can you seat us now...sure...cut to giving us the worst two seater table in the middle of the place...hostess can we sit in the booth instead...no its reserved...cut to me almost losing my temper on such an incompetent employee...and asking for the manger and explaining to her that her hostess is such an idiot I almost walked out without even trying your food which also turned out to be a major disappointment manager then makes nice nice; gives us a round of cocktails, and dinner begins to continue pleasantly in a nice romantic table in the back out of view of the hostess with the mostess who almost ruined my night...I know im being catty...it was one of those REALLY...moments where you cant believe how annoyed you are... second point of the evening; the waiter was amazing nice, attentive and pleasureable... the popovers were NOT promptly brought over as all the yelpers say and they were good but not what expected; they did have a lovely valentines day menu to pick an app, entree/side, and dessert that I chose...my bf ordered a steak and some other sides...the meal started off greater;delicious risotto with rock shrimp and sweet potato that was interesting and tasty.... the finale....the fish the server suggested- tiny bland and not cooked the way I asked...Im very specific and say well done; it was served with skin on and it was completely unappetizing and sent back immediately tried to compensate with the COLD sides they also served...bf Steak was OK, just OK at this point the manager was called back and we explained that we would appreciate it we could be charged for the food WE ACTUALLY ATE and get the hell out of there....and AGAIN DONT BOTHER WITH OCEAN DRIVE..thanks BLT you ruined our valentines day next time I want a steak...RED or SMITHS... I'm sorry cheated on you two I paid the price

It is a shame that a restaurant with such delicious food has such incompetent service. We had 4 waiters bumbling around our table. They have not been trained to the level of service one expects at these prices. One example, while clearing the dessert, the waiter asked "do you want your check?"--not "is there anything else we can bring you?" The check was delivered without a pen, but with a reminder (which I would not have minded necessarily) that the gratuity was not included. Zero panache, zero sense that we were in a restaurant where a steak (without sides) starts at $55. We are guests at the hotel and not planning to eat any more meals in the restaurant. (November 2013)

It was just ok, nothing great. The popover is a nice touch but most every top notch steak house has some sort of gimmick like this. When I go to a steak house I want to eat a great steak, and unfortunately on this occasion, it was just ok. The decore and setting is a little antiseptic, you feel like you are sitting in the lobby or in our case the front porch of an ocean drive hotel (you are). Sorry BLT, but every time I opened Yelp this screen comes up asking me to review, it worked...

We sat outside for dinner and the space was cramped and our table barely fit two water glasses, wine glasses, wine bottle, B&B plates and a basket of popovers. Now that's sad. Our server was a little slow with her service. Took her forever to bring our wine to the table. The food was ok. French cuisine, I ordered the duck breast and my boyfriend ordered a braised beef. His beef lacked tremendous flavor, but I did enjoy my duck. Their famous popovers were ok..a little over baked. Our bill was near $200 which we didn't mind since it was a birthday dinner for my boyfriend, but felt the food didn't really match the price. They need to step it up with the flavor profile on their dishes.

I have mixed feelings for this place only because yesterday we had the most amazing service (5 star service) from a young lady with glasses. Wish I knew her name to give her credit. Then today we went back and had horrible service from a different young lady. Today we ordered the Asian salad which I love and when she came by to do something I can't remember what she dropped a piece of crumbled paper into our salad!!!' I was livid and disgusted but because my husband hates complaining at restaurants I didn't get to throw a fit like i wanted to. And at the end she never took it off the bill or did anything to apologize. Also her service in general was a "can do without you" attitude. So if I were to return and saw this lady I would turn around and leave. I mean for the price u pay u expect some level of professional and respectable service.

We found this on Yelp and we weren't disappointed except for a couple of things... Drinks... Got the bloody Mary because it was recommended by a yelper... but mine was all watery :-( Service... started out great then petered out once the meals came. Had to flag down another waiter to get more drinks, dessert wasn't offered and it took forever to get the check. Food... on a brighter note, my husband and his friend split the 3rd LB! snapper which they described as creamy and delicious. The Stone crab (recommend by our waiter because it's in season) was wonderful and my lamb was phenomenal! For sides... the jalepeno mashed were just as good as everyone described and the squash was equally as good. Overall... delicious food and would have rated it a 4 if the service was better.

Eh. Skip it if you're going for a steak. I'm from Chicago and have experienced some of the best steaks in America so maybe I'm jaded but this place just isn't that great. My husband and I ate here during a recent vacation to South Beach and while the decor is very sexy and clean - the food leaves a lot to be desired. We each ordered a steak, salad and shared a selection of appetizers and nothing was memorable. Go for a cocktail if you're in the area as the restaurant itself (in the Betsy Hotel lobby) is pretty cute. But don't go thinking you're going to get a great steak!

One look at the pretty facade of the Betsy Ross and I knew I was going in. The very first thing I noticed upon crossing the threshold was the intoxicating aroma of stargazer lilies which filled the room. Next were the smartly dressed people coming in and out of the "invitation only" suite in the back. Looking down at my j.crew cover-up, I quickly realized that this rather fancy hotel is a place to see and be seen. Oh, but who cares! I had just wandered up from the beach and wasn't about to let the *slightly* pretentious vibe in there stop me from enjoying a sophisticated late afternoon meal. Although the sweet floral aromas and lovely piano music beckoned me to stay inside, I decided to sit out on the sidewalk so as not to miss any of the the South Beach action. You probably already know by now, but Ocean Drive is a hubbub for tourists (and for some rather interesting locals) where just about anything goes, but from my vantage point on the beautiful patio I felt as though I was watching the world go by from a lush oasis. The people at a neighboring table also provided plenty of free entertainment as I accidentally listened in on a conversation about a record deal. Never mind the ultra expensive menu or the slow service. I relished every minute at BLT Steak. A pomegranate martini to sip on, plenty of entertainment from the sidewalk, and a magnificent Kobe beef salad all made for one glorious afternoon!

Holler at BLT for Miami Spice! The menu for $35 is filled with tasty options of their standard fare. And you still get all the delicious in-betweens that really make this place one of my favorites. The chicken pate. The popovers. The food is great. Four stars. However I do maintain that the service here is very awkward. It has always been this way. Sommeliers sneaking up on you. Hosts that give TMI and then awkwardly escort you to the bar, 10 feet away, so you can wait for a table for two when half the restaurant is empty. Taking away the butter while people are still eating bread. Constantly hovering near the table to check the water levels in our glasses. Having one dining companion's plate cleared while the other is still munching. And being asked by a variety of waiters and manager-types "how we're all doing" at least 4 times during the meal. It almost feels like it's being run by students, the way they seem to try so hard to be fancy - folding your napkin when you go to the bathroom, pulling out the chairs for the ladies, proffering water avec ou sans gaz - but it's not quite thought through. They seem to think clearing plates before everyone is done is an efficient way to run the table, but it is an awkward way to finish a meal, for the person left with food. But the experience is still fine, just could be better. If the food weren't so delicious, they'd really have a problem. I keep hoping they'll grow up a little bit and become mama Prada. But for now they're stuck at lil' sis Miu Miu status.

The service was impeccable. The server (big bald guy) was so funny and so nice- he made it entertaining. I love that they give added courses that we never knew about. The bread was good. I've never had chicken liver patte but it was light and easily digestable for novices. I loved the croissant like bread that they brought out next with butter and salt...yummm! Two of us got the salmon special which was really good. The seabass which goes by a french name on the menu is also really light and nice. Another person had the swordfish which had a nice spice. Jalapeno potatoes were awesome and not too hot and something we've never had before. Oh we ordered the onion rings as a appetizer and the presentation was so unique...it was cool to look at and nice for everyone to share. Also chopped salad as an appetizer was great to share with spoonfuls for everyone. Tuna tartar was a little too fishy-sushi-like for our crowd. Crab cake was good but I preferred the onion rings and chopped salad. I love the little complimentary cookies they gave at the end. They are super bite size and so light you don't mind having 2 or 6! :) I would definitely come back. Nice place for a formal meal or romantic. Good for special occasions!

I absolutely loved this restaurant. The food was amazing we started off with the tuna tartare (delicious) my friend had the rib eye and I ordered the duck breast our sides were jalapeño mashed potatoes and grilled asparagus. Every single item was delicious. I didn't finish my entire meal since i wanted dessert I tried the peanut butter chocolate mousse with banana ice cream, it was divine. all flavors complimented each other well. you also get petit madeleines courtesy of the restaurant which are yummy as well. I would definitely go back to this restaurant (great thing there's one in Los Angeles right by me). Keep in mind you will spend $$$$ dining here but its well worth it for delicious food.

If you want to eat here, go for lunch only... NOT for dinner. The food was great for lunch, not for dinner. The vibe/atmosphere just wasn't to my taste for nighttime.. very casual. The food was ok but we had a horrible and rude waiter so that may have ruined the experience even more. Probably won't be coming back.

Great dinner at BLT for our first night out on my boyfriend's bd weekend. I've eaten at the BLT Steak in Manhattan and this spot in the Betsy Hotel is not as opulent as the one in New York. It is simple and refined. The food was excellent. Also, they give way too many popovers so take some home - they are better the next day as the cheese has time to really penetrate. My only comment is, though friendly and knowledgeable, our server was skittish: when he would ask us if we wanted anything he would not wait for the response but rather flitter off. It's really a 4+

Terrible experience from the start to te close finish- Lipstick on my teacup, waiter told us the wrong soup of the day. I ordered the salmon plate and about 30 min later the waiter told me they are out of it for the day, according to the manager it was because they had a big party the night before? It was 3pm- Seriously, this is an expensive restaurant in south beach...just humor me with some lox from the market down the street! Oysters on the half shell, one was rotten and the waiter picked it up like it was no big deal...all in all a terrible experience, save a trip to BLT for Los Angeles or new York. We are regulars there and the service and food is great all the time. Oh and as we left, the manager was arguing with the waiter about his service to us.

  • Joanna E.

Not impressed. The waiter mixed up two of our sides and took forever to be flagged down to get it rectified. He promised to take one of two off the bill (but didn't). Both my husband and I had steak - neither of which was particularly spectacular - in fact, both were downright mediocre. We'd originally been seated outside after being assured that it wouldn't rain, but when it started raining no one came to help up. We had to move ourselves (with our plates) inside and stand there until someone assisted us. Later, when seated inside the table next to us filled up with a family and they let their 3 children tear around the restaurant, knocking my purse over, running into other tables. The waiters said nothing. Another family brought an infant to a 10pm dinner. The poor child started bawling and the parents didn't do anything to soothe him/her. Again, the waiters said nothing. I know it's in the lobby of a hotel but it's really not acceptable for the price. In sum, totally sub-par meal and service for the price. There are plenty of other delicious choices on South Beach, and my suggestion would be to go with any of them rather than BLT Steak. I've really enjoyed other BLT steak locations, so I think this may be an anomaly in the chain.

I had a business dinner their on Friday night. I've eaten at BLT Fish/Steak in NYC and the food is always amazing. We had a table right out on Ocean Drive and we knew the customers would be happy. What could go wrong? First, the service was probably the worst I've ever received in a business setting (been taking clients out for 22 years now). Fabien was our waiter and couldn't care less if we had even a remotely decent dining experience. If he is your waiter ask for another. The other "great" thing about Miami is having a 20% gratuity stuck in there (some places for parties over 6; others have it IN the bill automatically to take advantage of the European tourists--given they don't tip I see why but you should always have an option of not tipping on crappy service IMO). Two of the steaks that were ordered were actually cold....I mean cold to the touch!!!! Unbelievable! The other was grey when the client ordered rare. Without batting an eyelash, our hero Fabien rolled his eyes and took the steaks back. When he returned them, the servers dropped them in front of the clients and he didn't stick around to see if they were to the diner's satisfaction. WTF? We did have a group of 9 and the other 6 meals were very good but for that price and a 20% gratuity you would expect more. There are plenty of options down on SB so I would steer clear of this horrible eatery.

Hello again, readers! It's been a 4 month funk for me, but a restaurant like BLT was enough to get me back to tickling the plastic ivories. Let's not waste any time: if you're reading this to determine if this is the feedbag for you, it is. While eating here is akin to being robbed, at least you'll get your money's worth. Quid pro quo, in a meaty, mostly non-sexual way. Order up your favorite cut (it is a steak restaurant, after all). You'll first enjoy some wonderful duck pate, followed by popovers (think big, puffy scones with guyere cheese on top). These freebies alone make me desire a return trip to Miami, but then...then, the meat comes. Off the grill, it's impeccably seasoned and cooked to perfection. It's served in a skillet, and it even comes with a piece of bone with marrow! Sucky sucky! Now, being it's classy self, BLT is a-la-carte. But, if you're to splurge and eat here, you won't mind another $10 per side. May I suggest the creamed spinach and gnocchi? Asparagus is also a great choice for both its taste and affect on your lemonade. Bottom line: If you're wandering around Ocean Drive, wading through the restaurants that have seemingly puked themselves all over the sidewalk...suck it up, fork over the cash, and have a damn fine steak tonight.

This is an incredible restaurant I had the pleasure of experiencing a few times during a recent stay at The Betsy Hotel. The restaurant is located inside the hotel, and is one of the best steak houses I may have ever been to. The food, from the unique Ahi Tuna Tower appetizer to the most tender cuts of beef, to the grilled corn, cheesy potatoes, and other sides were delicious. The service was an 11/10. Unbelievably polite and helpful servers who were always there but never disturbed our dinners. We ate here twice for dinner and had room service and poolside lunch through them at the hotel as well. Everything they served was traditional but with a unique spin, and a pleasure to consume! I highly recommend anyone in South Beach to try BLT Steak even if you are just coming in for dinner and not staying at The Betsy. BTW the popover cheese bread they serve before dinner could have been a meal in itself - awesome. We also never felt rushed, and the wine list is extensive. Perfect for a great meal on Ocean Drive!

Jalapeno mashed potatoes...enough said. The steak was great, the sides even better. The bread they give at the start of the meal is a meal in itself. Only "complaint" is the location. The Betsy is really nice, but on Ocean Drive...tourist heaven. It's a nice place for an intimate dinner and the food is totally worth going.

This is a fine addition to the dinning scene on Miami Beach. It was wise of the people behind the Betsy Hotel to open a Laurent Tourondel restaurant in their new hotel. He is a talented chef, who has a great franchise with the BLT brand. I had been to BLT Prime and BLT Fish in New York years ago, and was very impressed. I have enjoyed breakfast, lunch, and dinner here. It's nice to hang out in the lobby bar/lounge and have drinks with friends. The service has always been good. You can skip Prime One Twelve. This is much better food.

It was the perfect day for the perfect restaurant. Paid day off before a mini vacation back in the Midwest. Pay day to boot. Major bills out in the mail taken care of. So I decided to tour some old haunts and walk down memory lane from Lincoln Road to Ocean Drive. Oh, and I was hungry too! But where to get the bang for the buck?! Now I'm not talking about just lots of food for value, I was willing to pay for ambience and of course the cute waiter or two never hurt. Somehow my feet didn't let me down and just kept walking past stores, open and closed (did that latest incarnation of the Laundry Bar bite the dust again! My my) and restaurants that had cachet and panache but sometimes too little of both for what I was looking for. I coulda gone for lunch at Grillfish - and I'm glad I passed it - that has some great memories and I must go back. Jerry's Deli, for me, is verboten since it will always be the Warsaw Ballroom and it holds that one precious memory of my nemesis slipping down the stairs during a foam party and slamming his face on the pavement and losing some teeth - ah the sweetness of schadenfreude!! But I digress...and I found my mecca for an afternoon repast - BLT! Now it again was the day, not too warm, a sweet sea breeze, bouncing 20somethings in speedos crossing Ocean Drive and a restaurant that can serve a perfect steak, but not necessarily without taking out a bank loan. Yep, they're that kinda of expensive. Kinda place I'm not ashamed to say I'd take my parents, knowing my aw shucks dad would end up footing the bill anyway (jijiji!) and I don't know if I'd bring a date unless I was assured of some sex. Really good sex. Sex that has to be better than the meal. Which... is gonna be hard to do. Cuz, yep - they're that delicious. Yeah, I splurged... a dozen oysters, an aperitif, a glass of wine, the hanger steak and a side (creamed spinach that is the epitome of creamed spinach) and yep I didn't have 1 or 2 - I had three of the crunchy airy heavenly popovers - and yep, I slathered them with heart stopping butter. Why not? I cancelled the doctor appointment. Who needs to be told yet again why am I obese from your primary care? Layer your warm piece of cow with a snowy layer of salt, sip the wine and dig in - be bad - break the bank - GO TO BLT!

I wanted a special place for a special night and BLT Steak fit the bill nicely. We were seated promptly upon arrival. Service was helpful, professional, and attentive. I had the Caesar Salad, Cab Filet rare (cooked to perfection), BBQ Corn, and Creamed Spinach. My Significant Other started with the Roasted Beets , and for her entree had Sautéed Dover Sole. She opted to skip any sides in favor of having dessert, although she wound up sharing my spinach. Our meals were delicious and since we ate every bite we wound up too full for dessert. The popovers are outstanding. We will be coming back here next year for our next anniversary. This has become our tradition.

On a list of my favorite restaurants, this wouldn't make it to my top 10 however it is a great restaurant and if I were in Miami and in the mood for a steak I would definitely come here. It's a solid white table cloth type restaurant, with big leather booths and a loungey feel to it. To the food: popover were enormous and yummy steak was perfectly cooked and I appreciated the char (1700° oven) onion ring had great flavor - batter was crunchy without being oily bbq corn was very good - yum scraped every last kernel off the plate

fabulous experience! Meat Heaven! I wish I had a horsedrawn carriage with a groom to get to the BLT in Miami. It has this charming colonial vibe that make you want to walk around in a long gowns whole smoking menthol cigarettes from a long lady pipes. Ambiance is one of a kind. Its Victorian decor which consists from warm wood, ottomans and nice royal love seats yet you surrounded by palms, white walls and white curtians which lazily dance due to the mild ocean breeze. Add to that nicely dresses people and Voila you are in a brtish colonial villa. Service- professional yet very warm and personal which is not so common in steak houses. Our server-the guy from NYC was super helpful and just made our night. Food- ok, so this is why I deduced a star. Our freebies were much tastier than the meal itself. Popovers with warm cream-to die for, the best breakfast you can ask for. or warm chicken pate with pickles. By the time we got our food,I was stuffed from all the heavenly food delivered to us. tuna tartare was a top notch, yet u dont feel it until u will get to the bottom of the plate whwre tangy wasabi is hidden. Raw seafood plate- its decent, fresh and nice variety, not too imaginative but its ok. Steak-my friends had very nice steak ,dont know tha name but it was one of the specials. My steak which was a cow from Japan who received massages and a special diet ( talk about who has a nice life!! why I dont get massages?!) was lacking a tastes and was very salty. I always judge the food by the price tag. Higher the price the more I expect . anyways, next time Im in Miami Im coming back for sure!!I can practice veganism in NYC and cheat in Miami!

My favorite part of going to BLT is the pop overs and it was no different this one. The staff is very friendly and anticipates your needs but not in an over the top way. The hostess was cranky but pregnant so she gets a pass! Every single bite of our meal was delicious. The jalapeno mased potatoes, the lobster salad, asparagus, carrot cake. And sitting outside across from the boardwalk was icing on the cake. This was my best BLT experience to date!

So great and amazing and ... well everything this little out-of-towner could have asked for! A great patio area where we soaked in the morning sun and sipped my freshly squeezed orange juice. We were greeted with these little popovers, and they kindly give you the receipt for you to enjoy at home. What a great idea!!... they may give these to everyone.... but these little touches personalize the experience for me. My boyfriend ordered the cuban (a must have if your in Miami)... and the traditionalist that I am, I ordered am omelet. Everything was delicious! Enjoy!

The service was great and friendly. The steaks were out of this world (40 ounce porterhouse to share was a good choice). The appetizers and sides were also great. We did not have room for dessert. I would definitely go here again.

We just had brunch at BLT and loved it. The quality of the food was exceptional. A bit pricy and the staff, although very cute, could have been a bit friendlier and not so "cool". Like our waitress called one of us "dude". We laughed... Definitely will put thus on the once a month list. Bloody Mary was very good even though a little smaller than I like.

I was skeptical about eating on Ocean drive. Being that it's so touristy. My friend wanted to have her birthday dinner here. I shut my mouth because... well... its her birthday. We were literally cruising down ocean and she was like... oooh that place looks nice. let's go there! I'm glad I kept my mouth shut. The food was phenomenal. I ordered the prime cut rib eye with peppercorn sauce (medium). It was so tender. I was able to cut through it with just my fork. As I chewed on a tiny morsel of heavenly cow: I could feel my taste buds high fiving each other as this sweet buttery meat made its way south into my belly. Of course I couldn't finish as it was a pretty hefty portion. I also had a side of potatoes au gratin. It was the perfect compliment to the already perfect steak. I was impressed. Before any of our food arrived: they served is this really tasty bread. I think they called it Poppers? I dont remember too well. Bombzilla for sure. I could have had just bread and would have left a 5 star review! My friends had the porter house which arrived sizzling to our table. Pretty neat. I of course sampled a small morsel. I'm sure it was part of that same divine cow. Tasty... seared perfectly and it still had the bone. Delightful! The decor was sexy. I've always seen the Betsy hotel but never really been inside. There's a nice little waiting area to the right where you can hang and just have a glass of wine. It had a nice modern southern colonial thing going on. It was sexy. The staff at BLT were 5 star for sure. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable: they were able to really explain cuts and make recommendations based on our needs and wants. Visiting BLT Miami definitely warrants a visit to the LA store where I am from. I hope to return soon. Maybe next time I visit Miami.

Just vistited this weekend after convincing my wife to go it was very disappointing service and bad atmosphere. The food is always good but if you have terrible service it will take out the pleasure of your dining experience. They need to do a major redo of the resturant to stay competitive in miami beach. I will not go back

Actually I expected more. It took the waitress 20 minutes to bring my cocktail. She seemed overloaded with tables and often stopped at other tables after I asked for the cocktail or other items. The food was excellent, especially the steak. We were not happy with the cobb salad, only a couple small pieces of lobster. the popovers were served late in the meal only after we asked for them. It seemed to have a less than acceptable ambience for the price. It was one of the few times in my life that I left less than a 20% tip. But the steak, ribeye was great.

The hubs and I recently came here for Miami Spice 2012. It was a pure coincidence too because a friend actually recommended me this place before I checked the Miami Spice Restaurant List so when I found out this was on the Miami Spice list I was like Yeah! $39.00 for a three course meal. So I don't know why but I totally set myself up for a horrible dinner and terrible service. Maybe its because most...not all but most South Beach restaurants are like this....rude staff, lousy food and just blah! Well folks...NOT HERE! Well at least for us this night, service was awesome!!!!! Food was awesome and just a great time. We ordered from the Miami Spice menu and we elected to get the wine pairings. We got the pork belly for appetizers, The 10oz steak, Jalapeno mash and the green beans. We got one each of the dessert. The PB&J cheesecake and Dulce De Leche Smores. All meals were perfectly paired with the wine selection which cost about $25 each. Great all of it! Everything was delicious. Perfectly cooked. Delicious! OMG so the best part of the meal...YES----THE POPOVERS!!! OMGGGGGGG SOOOO YUMMY!!!! They are complimentary. I wanted more...very addictive BTW! 2nd Part of the meal.....Our Waiter Marco. He was great. He was very knowledgeable of the menu and food. I love that! There's nothing worse than a waiter who doesn't know nothing about the food wouldn't you agree? But not Marco.... He knew and he recommended. Thanks Marco! He was also down to earth which is very rare to find in South Beach. LOL Well the night was perfect and I plan to return to BLT Steak.

Came here for a nice dinner on my vacation with the girls and was impressed by some things and disappointed by others. Even though I had made reservations, we were asked to wait about 20 minutes before we were seated. The menu consisted of your typical steakhouse style menu with main courses being the different cuts of meat and sides. While we waited, the waiter brought out these enormous sized bread things that were called Gruyere Popovers (amazing). The steaks were brought out on cast iron skillets that showcased them beautifully. From the many sides that we ordered my favorites were the Jalapeno mashed potatoes...AMAZING and the onion rings. After dinner, the chef sent out some complimentary freshly baked madelines which were yummy. Pro -- great food Con -- service

The only reason I will not give BLT a 5 star review is because I've only been once. I'm not sure if it was a fluke, but the food was exquisite. Tried the Miami Spice menu....Yellow tail Snapper, a salad, and the key lime pie. My significant other had the steak, pork belly something, and the passion fruit souffle. We accompanied the meal with a suggested wine paring for $25(3 wines total). Besides the food being great, the service was perfect as well. I'll definitely try this place again.

Very very disappointed. I'm a regular at the BLT in NYC... The Miami BLT should be embarrassed at the way it's ran! I sat outside only to be neglected...the napkins on all 4 silver wear roll ups were dirty and cruddy, the server was non existent and the cherry on top of all the bad hospitality...the person who should be blamed for the demise of BLT Miami is AVA the most non responsive lethargic demeanor waste of a salary manager. Whoever hired her should be fired too! Her lack of professionalism and warmth is upsetting. Someone from NY should come down to the Miami BLT and please teach these people how to run a restaurant so you stop loosing valuable clientele due to unqualified staff.

Overrated. Just okay. I am the first to say a restaurant is amazing. Catch miami was amazing. Here, ceviiche was tiny. Fish was good, nothing special. My boyfriend got a skirt steak which was "fine" but he has bad much better. The ambiance was beautiful at the quaint Betsy hotel and the service was fine, but nothing was worth the 240 price tag.....sadly

Service, Steak and all other food is one of the best in Miami. And there are great steak places in Miami. The free pate appetizer with popcorn bread is the most incredible thing ever. I just want to go there and eat that. Then the real food comes out. Take a date and float away....

Went for Miami spice Lunch Atmosphere- Very bright, casual. It is really open, located right next to the lobby, reception, and back exit. It is not enclosed from the rest of the hotel. Very clean. Service- Since it was around 2 on a weekday, it was empty. We were seated right away and our waiter took a few minutes to attend to us. The hostess and waiter were all smiles, and the waiter checked in on us twice between service. Appetizer- Tomato soup with goat cheese beignet- Very tasty soup, drizzled with olive oil. The beignets were delightful. Entre-Black angus hamburger- I asked for it to be cooked medium and it was perfect. Very juicy and flavorful. The tarragon sauce was great, and all the toppings were fresh. Their fries are amazing. About the best a burger and fries can taste. Dessert- key lime pie with greek yogurt sherbert- The pie was very tart and good. the sherbert was very interesting because it was made with greek yogurt. I enjoyed it a lot. They serve bread called pop overs, which is a light, cheesy, buttery, flaky pastry that is hollow inside....THEY ARE DELICIOUS.

I was fortunate enough to be invited to the Grand Opening for BLT aka Bistro Laurent Tourondel, and this is one event I am glad I went to. First let's just get the one neg out of the way. The usual, same-old, same-old: the velvet-rope at grand openings. Even though my name was on the list I was told they were at capacity and one of the door guys was rude. So just a note to BLT and all restaurants out there, please be nice as first impressions are important. -- This of course in no way affected my venue rating. So I finally get in and away from rude door man. Yes, this place was packed so I tried to head away from the crowd and walked into a raw bar room with oysters and shrimp sitting there looking almost too perfect. Seafood was definitely the way to start the better part of the night. After a couple of shrimp and oysters, I was now ready to brave the line. Behind the staff was a wall covered in what appears to be a blackboard? with definitions of food like Kobe Beef. That board plus the staff's welcoming and simple, sans pretense, endearing ways are proof that this restaurant although topnotch is about making any and everyone feel at home. Save the attitude for other steakhouses (and the door guys). I grabbed a plate and the first item to be placed on my plate was some sort of popovers, next was goat cheese salad, lemon-rosemary chicken, sirloin, and a few slices of cheese. popovers - delicious! light but filling and just cheesy enough, no flaking, or messiness goat cheese salad - very good, not at all drowned in dressing, instead refreshing lemon-rosemary chicken - well-seasoned and moist steak - (Please note I sadly missed out on NY strip) cooked perfectly I took my small plate (small servings as they were feeding a full house) and made my way around the crowd spotting a few recognizable famous faces like Jeffrey Donovan from Burn Notice aka BNG, Burn Notice Guy, Ramona from Housewives of NYC aka the blonde one. I hung with Yelp photog extraordinaire Jipsy and fellow yelpers Amalia M and Leandro E. Amalia and I headed back to the dessert table where I had a mini peanut-butter & chocolate mousse and a tiny lemon tart with blueberries. Yes, the food is good and but not to be outdone is the decor. Which much like the staff is welcoming and relaxed. A tell-tale sign of a good meal is thinking about it the next day. I'm not just thinking I am straight out craving some BLT. I can't wait to head back on a "regular" night with friends and order some of that love at first bite bread.

Just had a leisurely brunch here. Really nice atmosphere/setting as one would expect, since its in one of the finest hotels in south beach. Famous for their popovers - pretty cool that when they come out, it actually comes with the popover recipe so you can recreate them at home! Steak and eggs came out perfect, have nice accompaniments of home fries, some veggies and a roasted tomato all served in a nice cast iron skillet. The BLT popover brunch item (not the free ones that come with the meal) was really decadent. Not for health nuts, but if you want to indulge, this is a great place to do it. They have nice cocktail selections as well, pretty refreshing. Definitely a place if you want to indulge.

We had an enjoyable experience at B.L.T. located inside the "Modern-Day Southern Plantation" Betsy Hotel. B.L.T. does not have your typical steak house décor (i.e. Capital Grille). B.L.T. feels more inviting with its lighter woods, contemporary bar, and open layout. I believe this leads to a less restrictive dining experience. Also by design, the menu had a touch of creativity, also not seen in typical steakhouses. We ate outside with a view of the ocean. Of note, the bartender was very knowledgeable as he knew the difference in taste and casket between the Balvenie 12 and Balvenie 15. The signature pop overs were out-of-this-world. Although B.L.T. hands out complementary recipes of this little taste of heaven, I can't see any novice chef without a state-of-the-art oven recreating its taste. The tuna tartar was shaped into a large cube placed in a ceviche type sauce. Enough to share with four people. Very fresh. Very flavorful. My friend and I shared the 40 oz. Porterhouse Steak. The steak was prime, dry-aged - which I love. The fillet half was as good as it gets. The sauces, although not needed, were delicious. Both of our wives ordered fillets with the same rave reviews. The one negative of B.L.T. was that we ordered the Porterhouse Pittsburg-style; the steak came out Mid-Rare and the crust was not seared, however. I was surprised considering the restaurant claims a 1700 degree oven. That being said, the steak did not bleed one drip of blood so I'm probably nitpicking. The desserts, crepe soufflé and chocolate peanut butter mousse, were good, but nothing to write home about. Of the two, the crepe soufflé was better. Overall, I was very impressed with B.L.T. Again, not your typical steak house - in a good way. We are looking forward to coming back to B.L.T. for our next special occasion.

Sigh* I had my hopes up perhaps too high... for a place that features a chart of beef cuts on the back of their menu and a wall dedicated to introducing beef terminology I was very let down with my steak tonight. First of all, their medium = well done, and their medium rare = medium, my steak turned out way too overcooked and wasn't very hot to be honest, it almost tasted like it sat out for a good 30 minutes before it was served. My appetizer - crunchy pork belly (not crunchy at all) and the soba noodles were overcooked and soggy. The side dishes of bbq corn was not bad but also all of the side dishes tasted room temperature, like its been sitting around. The polenta with parmesan was also room temperature, taste was not bad but again, less than expectations and to be honest pretty average. Strawberry creamsicle and Chocolate mouse desserts were both just mediocre, nothing to shout about. The only saving grace were those darn delicious Popovers! O my goodness, and the duck pate that they serve at the beginning of the meal. Both were complementary and probably the best part of the entire meal. The Popovers were insanely fresh, crunchy and o so soft and moist on the inside. Too bad they don't let you order just that. And yes people, it does cost an arm and a leg to eat there but its Sobe what do you expect? Until they decide to sell me Popovers by the dozen, I would probably go to Prime 112 if I felt like steak next time.

Great atmosphere, the Betsy is a super cool spot. One of the only cool spots on Ocean. I'm from DC and have been to the BLT Steaks in DC and NYC many times, never disappointed. Miami was no different. The layout was cool, I mean, its right in the hotel lobby... kinda neat. There were 6 of us for dinner so we ordered nearly every side and 6 different entree's. Ribeye, Filet, Black Cod, Boulliabaise (sp?), Short ribs and a number of starters. Everything was quite good. Service was good, actually it was between good and excellent. The only two things i'd say are this, and I realize this is nitpicking, but, some of the popovers were a bit underdone, if thats your signature starter, get it right every time and the piece of marrow I got with my ribeye was about the size of my thumbnail and overdone. Marrow is one of those things that will make you smile, its egregious overindulgence and I love it, but frankly, that little nibble, dried out a bit and having lost its gelatenous texture was a waste of cholesterol intake. like I said, nitpicky... The ribeye however was amazing. Another good offering from Laurent Tourondel.

This was one of my favorite places when I lived in Washington, D.C. and the food is just as good here! Although some aspects of the customer service could use a little work. Decent ambiance and decor, although the lighting is a little bright...they should really dim it down to give it a warmer feeling. The DC location has that great candle-lit atmosphere. The noise level is a little loud if you are sensitive, but I am not so it wasn't a big deal. Also, it took entirely too long (on a Thursday) to get water, bread, and the waiter to come over...and the man who poured the water poured some on the table and my menu and did not bother to clean it up. Once the waiter did come over he was very attentive and helpful. The steaks were fantastic as was the rest of the food. The bread they bring to every table is probably the best bread I've every had...gruyere popovers! Amazing. Also, even though my husband made the order through opentable and told them it was my birthday, there was no mention of it or offering of the standard "free" dessert. I really don't care that much about not being offered a free dessert, the money isn't the issue....but, top-end restaurants should really pay attention to the "special requests" on the reservation page. This place was so special to me and my husband when we lived in DC, I was hoping we would have the same experience in Miami. I am confident that we will if they make a few tweaks.

Not sure why the 4 stars....sat on sidewalk portion and waiter spoke to us from the balcony. Really unprofessional. We were seated in an area that started to get the 12 o'clock sun and asked the waiter if he could accommodate us with some additional shade. He just looked at the canopies and said "no". Not let's change your table, not let's try......nada! Food was decent but with all the choices on ocean drive I would opt to go elsewhere. Shame on you BLT for such poor service.

I've eaten at BLT Steak but that was in Puerto Rico.. so I decided to try this locale which is a few blocks from my house. I went with fellow Yelper and friend Janelle for brunch and it was definitely worth it! We were very indecisive as to what we were going to eat.. and we even joked if brunch was tapas style, so we could order several things. Spicy -- Bloody Mary -- to die for. A little spicy and strong a perfect combo Medium -- The food -- and the only reason is the size of the portions. I went with the burrito. It was very tasty.. only problem was it was a little small for the price. It comes with home fries and I wish there was more on the plate :) My friend ordered the Croque Monsieur and she said it was very good. We joked about the tapas style and we were kind of right. We should have ordered the French Toast because I was a little hungry after. Mild -- nothing really other than the place was pretty empty. Which is a good thing but for brunch for some reason I always like it to be busy, love to people watch So if you are ever in the area & the line at Front Porch is too long and you are willing to spend a little more then try out BLT.

Let me start by saying that I have dined at other BLT restaurants in NYC and have always thoroughly enjoyed the experience. While in South Beach recently my girlfriend and I decided to go to BLT for a late dinner at the bar (10:30pm on a Saturday night). We sat down at the bar and were not greeted by the bartender (he was just standing behind the bar looking at the mostly empty bar with a puss on his face). After about 5 minutes without being acknowledged I said excuse me to get the bartenders attention and asked for menus. He did not offer us a cocktail but rather just handed us the menus and walked away. He returned about 5 minutes later (only after saying excuse me to get his attention) with a piece of paper and a pen (he didn't say anything) I used this opportunity to order our meals and drinks. After taking our order he set us up for food and continued to lean against the back of the bar with a puss on his face. For the rest of our dining experience our bartender did not approach us to offer us anything. I flagged him down half-way through my meal to get another cocktail and again to get the check. The saving grace of our dining experience was the food! My steak was well cooked, the steak sauces were delicious, & the sides were a nice change from the typical steak house sides. All things considered my experience was tainted by the poor attitude and service from the bartender. His behavior and lack of hospitality is unacceptable at this price point. I am a ten year veteran of the service industry (4 years in a fine dining steak house) and understand that it is possible to have a bad day or a bad week but when you are behind the bar you are on stage. It is important to separate your emotions from your job - in this case his job was to care for his guests.

Great food and people watching along Ocean Drive. Filet with creamed spinach is recommended. Wine list is a little light but the selections are nice. The service was top notch. Seating outside to enjoy the views make for a great dinner.

Ate here Jan 21 with my husband. Had a 7:30 Rez ( which is early by SoBe standards, I know!). We were seated immediately. The room is stylishly elegant - decorated in a soothing "English colonial meets Miami vibe": dark wood floors, plantation shutters, cream banquettes w/ lots of throw pillows, soft lighting. It's definitely a restaurant for grown-ups, rather than the typical scenesters you encounter at the Lincoln Road restaurants. The food was very good (albeit pricey and all items ala carte, which is typical at most steakhouses). We had a salad and shrimp cocktail to start. These were the BIGGEST shrimp I have ever seen in my life! They were approx 5 ozs. Each (6" long - not kidding). Cold, fresh and crunchy. We shared the 22 oz bone-in NY strip which was cooked perfectly (they char the steaks on the outside, which can sometimes be too intense, but it was a mild charring and very delicious). I expected them to add a charge for entree splitting and was pleased to note they didn't We had 3 side dishes: Hen of the Woods mushrooms ( which I have Never seen offered anywhere), the Parmesan gnocchi, and grilled asparagus. All sides were perfectly cooked, served hot and delicious. We had a lovely bottle of Stag's Leap Cabernet which came at proper cellar temperature and was also very good. With the check they deliver house-made Madeleines (petite French buttery cakes). skip dessert and have these with a cup of coffee. This restaurant does not add the gratuity, which is unusual for this area, and we were pleased to tip what we felt was appropriate. I would recommend BLT to anyone who wants a good meal in a lovely setting. They had some unique offerings on the menu which made it more interesting than your typical steakhouse meal.

We just kept saying WOW! This place really rocks.. We had a server named Marco, who really gets it, not stuffy and very knowlegable, I mean every time we needed something, someone was there. We had the Rack of Lamb and the Duck for entrees and they were both on my top 5 list of best entree's I have ever had... If you go to this restaurant with the right attitude the possibilities for unbelievable dining experiences are extremely high. Cannot wait to go back to this place, I only wish we could afford to stay at their hotel.. Wish they had one in Naples

Food was good before and now it's great! Popovers are cheesy delicious as usual. The menu has changed yet keeps the aged steaks and seafood items..All 6 others had no complaints with whatever they chose.. Refreshing when every dish is tasty and nothing disappoints..Service lagged at first then it was attentive...

I must be pretty jaded. Honestly. Went to have a good steak. Two specials intrigued me: the Top Sirloin and the Delmonico. The Delmonico was $57 and I decided to go with it though I still don't quite understand the cut. The bartender explained both steaks as different cuts of rib-eye but they seem like they're short loin. Ah well, I only know what I look up on Wikipedia. The menu described both as sirloin. At any rate, also ordered the peas side dish which was peas with caramelized onions and bacon. I expected a lavish feast. Before the meal I took a $20 glass of Chateau Clarke (and had two more, later). They brought out some chicken liver pate with toast and then a popover. The pate was decent. The popover was warm and decent. The inside was great but the crust was too dark for my taste. I'll have to say the steak was pretty damn good. It came with "marrow butter" on the side (inside a bone). It wasn't awesome though. I am jaded. The peas were too greasy and didn't go well with the steak. All in all, with my buddy's two beers and my three glasses of wine I had a pretty hefty bill. Add tip and suddenly I've got some serious sticker shock. Was it good? Yes. Was it worth it? Eh, I don't think so. I could go with more stars if the food was more impressive or if the cost was less impressive. They did throw in some little lemon cakes at the end; "petit fours," or whatever. Nice touch as well as the pre-dinner treats. One more thing. Seems like many steak places boast about their 10 million degree ovens. BLT definitely cooks at very high temperatures but like Meat Market, ends up with a slight char on the outside and decent temperature on the inside. I can do without the char. BURGER I also had the burger for lunch one day. Not bad but keeping with the charred theme, it was more like a LeTub burger. Would rate as a very good burger if there weren't other much better burgers to be had. More like Jethro Clampett out on the town than the James Bond burger of Bourbon Steak.

I was impressed. The bread is really good to start. I had the lobster salad which was more like a ceviche - a must have. We also had the crab salad. Another must have. Then I hade the filet which was cooked perfectly. The BBQ corn was corn with bacon - yummm, you must go there for this alone. I will be back again and again!

Great location and a wonderful dining experience. Our group was there for a late lunch on the patio and were very pleased. The hanger steak, asparagus, corn, and jalap mashed were all great. Without question, I will be going back.

The food is definitely delicious albeit very rich and we pretty much were in a serious food coma by the time we got back to our hotel. BF had a filet...second time around they got it right. Good assortment of appetizers and sides. I liked the fact that I asked for a cheeseburger and got it even though it wasn't on the dinner menu. Was about to pull out my BLT Burger card if they denied me, but luckily didn't have to. :) Popovers were good but mine are better. Service was weird but it was slow and we were the only ones outside. Definitely check it out. The BLTs in NYC are great too.

My waiter, Eli, deserves the most credit for my experience here. He was attentive but not overly so, and prompt about everything. My drink arrived with a plate of pickled veg and a little chicken liver pate. Amazingly, about 5 minutes later, an enormous popover arrived. Piping hot, bordering on decadent, and the recipe included. I was already half full by the time my appetizer showed up, a Dragon Roll that was nicely prepared. Not the best sushi I've had, but far from the worst. The main course was Grilled Spiny Lobster. I told Eli "this is the best tail I've had" to which he laughed hard enough that he had to turn away for a second. The lobster tail is, in a word, divine. Incredible texture, nicely seasoned so as the spice didn't overwhelm the natural taste. Served on an heirloom tomato salad with natural herbs. That's the thing that bugged me, and consequently earns 4 stars instead of 5. I'm not sure what herbs were used, but they were potent. A few bites of the salad tasted rather like perfume it was so strong. I promptly shat myself upon seeing the bill. It's a little on the high side, even for Miami Beach.

My family and I were there for Miami Spice dinner 2011. It was a limited menu due to pre fixe price of $35 for very FINE dining. We tasted their wonderful bread with chicken liver and the surprise 2nd course bread -beautiful popovers! The salad and the fish were great. The desert mouse crepe was FABULOUS!! Disappointing were the top sirloin cap steaks - very chewy?? And this from a steak house?? Three of us ordered the steak menu item from Miami Spice menu. :( as it was a steak house. It was very wonderful in presentation on a skillet though :)!! I must say the food presentation, service, and ambience were amazing. I would go and order different steak items from the menu for a 2nd try.

wow what an amazing dining experience! First quick note, my girlfriend and I called earlier in the day to try and make a reservation for dinner and we were told that they were completely sold out for the night - we decided to try anyways and lo and behold when we arrived we were seated right away with lots of other tables available - so don't be discouraged by your first "no". The amuse or pre-course of warm chicken livers and toast is absolutely divine, followed by the GIANT pop overs that were also amazing - was only a precursor of what was to come! My friend and I shared an appetizer as well as an entree and (2) sides and it was more than enough food - in fact it was so good that we took all our left overs to go (and we were staying in a hotel :) - we made room in our mini bar fridge! Great service, beautiful atmosphere and amazing food! Can't wait to go back next time I'm in Miami or NYC or Las Vegas!

So I went to BLT for the third time now. We were celebrating my girlfriends birthday and this is where she wanted to go because the last time we went we had such a good experience. The first time that we went the food was excellent. I wish I could say the same thing about the service. The second time we went we had the pleasure of having Thomas as our server. He walked us through the menu and made all of our selections for us. The menu can get a little pricey (runs around $125 per person). It was nice to have someone who tried to guide us through an experience and not just try to jack up the bill. The food is above average, but not the best, so the service really made up for the price. I'm glad that I remembered Thomas's name and requested him. Unfortanutally he was serving outside, but I knew he would make our experiance rememberable . I would never sit outside at a restaurant like BLT ( no light or fans in the Miami heat doesnt mix well). We shared a filet and tuna tartar and two sides. He didn't push us to have our own entrees or push us to order more food. Another great experience . Thanks Thomas

came here for brunch after walking by and the popovers have really made me want to give this place five stars. I LOVE popovers and make them at home, so was really excited that they had them when they brought them out for us. I had an amazing bloody mary, very spicy, just how I like it. I ended up ordering the popovers that had eggs, ham, cheese, spinach, and bechamel sauce inside. AMAZIng combo, served with bacon and potatoes. mmm so unhealthy but so good. My one downside is the service was a little slow, and when I asked if they could leave off the bechamel sauce the waiter said it was mixed with the spinach. When I got the food, it was definitedly drizzled ontop, but it was still good- i just didnt want it to be as heavy. Would definitely come back when Im in south beach agian.

If you like marbled cow meat this place will give you a boner. Rib eye, cab filet, creamed spinach, BBQ corn all excellent. Cocktails were only ok. bar has a very nice lounge.

I had some clients coming from Europe for a week and the first chance we had I took them to my favorite restaurant, BLT for lunch. First guest had the NY Strip and said it was just right and forgot about his diet and devoured the popover. His veggie salad was good but for $15... The second guest had a Salad as a meal and said the feta cheese tasted like it was from back home! I had the Tuna Tartare which was cool and refreshing as always and if I remember correctly the squash soup which was fresh and just the right temp. I ate only half of my popover bread with butter of course. The service was very good and the manager came over to the table to make sure everything was great. Since it was lunch, the order came out at a faster clip than at dinner which made the idea of more business lunches in the future more likely.

i truly hesitate to write this because i know after i do so it might be impossible to have brunch here again but.....did you know blt has a $24 brunch that includes a comlimentary mimosa or bloody mary ( i asked for a bellini instead and they complied) i had the steak and eggs, i said oh my god with my first bite of egg and i think i wanted to lick my plate when i tried my baked tomato with seasoned panko crumbs. my hubby ordered a croque madame w/ a croissant that felt like biting into paris. i cant tell you how my father's burger was b/c he opted not to share (and he's not a big eater) my mother had the cobb salad which comes with a generous portion of lobster.... to reiterate what has already been said, service at this place is A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! they are seriously so ready willing and able to do anything you ask. the cocktails are very good here, the bloody mary was spicy and delicious. for dessert, DO NOT MISS the crepe souffle, its light and airy and the passionfruit sauce was sweet with tjust the right amount of tang. i cant say enough about this restaurant

First off, the restauant is NOT even close to being in the same league as the one in NY. We went in with a party of 9 people on Friday night. We were seated at a large table by the kitchen...the table was so big we couldn't hear ourselves speak...so we asked to be moved to a more intimate table...they did move us, an hour later! The wine list was very, very small and extremely over priced...to the point of absurd. The food was okay, but the sides were so ridiculously small it, we all left hungry! We paid over $120.00 per person and for those figures, I would have rather gone to Prime One Twelve where at least their sides are big enough to share. I would not go back, nor would I recommend this restaurant to anyone.

I visited BLT for Miami Spice... They had a great selection and the portions were substantial! The Popover Bread which started the meal was amazing (couldn't stop eating it) I started with the Tomato/Watermelon Salad, light and summery! I thoroughly enjoyed the Pepper Crusted Flat Iron Steak as the entree and the spicy BBQ corn with bacon as the side! Both absolutely delicious! Our waiter Marco was great, very knowledgeable of the menu and made great recommendations! Thanks to BLT for a great dining experience!

Fantastic dinner and service!!! The price was comparable to any other Ocean Drive restaurant, but the quality and service was second to none!!! We had a wonderful french waitress that was so attentive and had great recommendations. Outstanding steak and short ribs and the ceviche was amazing!!! All of this was out shined only by the service...never a glass empty, never a dirty plate sitting on the table. This is what 5 star quality is about.

This restaurant is superb! My first experience was at BLT in NY and although the Miami location is not as grand the food is equally as delicious. This is truly one of my favorite restaurants, the service is 5 stars hands down, and the variety of food is outstanding.

I went to BLT at The Betsy Hotel with one of my best girlfriends for a late lunch during Superbowl weekend 2010. Although relative, the service was SUPER slow, SUPERbowl weekend (pun intended)!! It was as if snails were crawling over to serve us. We were really anxious to eat because we hadn't eaten anything with substance all day, so we were surely irked, and could have easily stormed off. However, there's just something about BLT. The location near Deco Drive, but away from most of the crowd is such a prime location. The servers were very polite and gave us many updates on the status of our order. My friend and I people watched and chatted as our mouths watered at the sight of the food arriving at neighboring tables. In fact, we were particularly taken by the colossal shrimp cocktail that another table ordered, so we immediately added it to our order. I loved the freshness of the prawns and the tangy cocktail sauce served alongside with mini tabasco bottles for a little heat. I was skeptical about the hot sauce but it really worked. For the main event we both had cuban sandwiches with spicy mayo, it was the very best cuban I've ever had! The bread was a little hard, I ended up making it work by picking the hard parts off, which was unsightly, but I could care less because my gums thanked me later. I substituted the Garlic fries with Old Bay fries...they were so delicious and full of flavor. We were both very satisfied when we left, and I look forward to the time I'm a BLT Steak, wait or no wait, the food is so worth and the service is outstanding.

Upon walking by The Betsy Hotel in South Beach, we entered BLT Steak to review the menu. We loved the atmosphere and the menu looked interesting so we had our concierge cancel our reservation at Smith and Wollensky and book BLT Steak instead. We arrived at 6:00 pm on a Tuesday night and there were a few patrons at the bar. We were greeted by Amber, a lovely and knowledgeable barmaid who provided us with details on the nightlife in South Beach. We enjoyed our bottle of Faust Cabernet Sauvignon (2006) and she brought it to our table when it was time to be seated. Our waiter, Marco, proved to be very well-informed with the menu, and also shared a "blackboard" menu: a prix fixe meal including an appetizer, entrée, side dish, and dessert for $62. After ordering, we were offered grilled flatbed with a small jar of chicken livers and a few pickled cucumbers. This was a pleasant surprise and elevated our expectations for the meal. The spinach and radicchio salad with blue cheese and bacon that I ordered was large enough to split and very nicely done. Prior to our entrees arriving, Marco delivered popovers which were by far, the best we've ever had. BLT includes a little recipe booklet with the recipe for the popovers which is a quaint little detail that inspires the chef in all of us. My flat iron steak with onion sauce was perfectly prepared medium-rare and presented in the skillet it was cooked in. On the side, we were given several options for sauces and the peppercorn sauce that I choose was light and complimented the steak perfectly. Only the grilled onion sauce detracted from the steak itself, but other than that, everything was perfect. The side of lima bean succotash was expertly prepared with sautéed onions and corn. My partner enjoyed the ribeye (on the bone) with a side of cilantro mashed potatoes (light and tasty) and grilled asparagus. I must note that the asparagus was cut in half and each half was grilled to the same consistency which is a another small detail that our chef attended to. We shared the dessert of 3 sorbets (lychee, tamarind, and mame) which was a refreshing palette cleanser and sweet end to a perfect meal. To close, Marco delivered orange blossom Madeline's, compliments of the chef, and a glass of Prosecco. Our meal could not have been better and I doubt that we would have had such an exceptional experience at Smith and Wollensky's. The Executive Chef, Laurent Tourondel, does not overlook one detail and over delivers on all levels of culinary expectations. As a result, I plan on visiting other BLT restaurants as I travel and look forward to those meals as well.

Disclaimer: I went to BLT Steak on 3/3/10 so my drinks, sides, and desserts were only $3 and, obviously, this influences my review. Things that were great: 1. chicken liver pate automatically served? classy. 2. popovers were delicious. asiago cheese on everything please. 3. drinks were very solid - although if i was paying $12 i would not be thrilled, but at $3 they were fantastic 4. jalapeno mashed potatoes? loved them 5. ratatouille - i felt like the mean critic in the pixar film 6. carrot cake - our favorite dessert of the night (also had the crepe and the coconut chocolate dessert) 7. the service - marco was great, as was everyone else who came by the table. the drinks were slow to come out, but it was a packed house and not a big deal i wish this was better: 1. the rib-eye! wait, is this a steakhouse? i was very confused that i thought the rib-eye was less than great. in the future, i think i'll order fish, but weird. that's it. overall, a great time.

4.5 stars ... recommended and I'll definitely be back Went on a Monday night with 2 friends, all of us either currently in or previously employed in restaurants. We ordered family style, even though the menu isn't exactly set up to do so. We had one app, two entrees, four sides... and two bottles of wine : ) Bread: Guyere cheese popovers! - Yum! a little little crunchy but great flavor. App: 3.5* Grilled octopus - good, not great. tender and not chewy at all. $33 Entrees: 5* Braised Short Rib - Great! love it, super super flavorful 5* Prime Top Cap - This place knows it steak. Server described it as a ribeye, but not so fatty but great marbling and flavor. med rare ... perfection Sides: 3.5* Lobster macaroni - I was expecting better. ok, but would not get it again 3.5* Parmesan Gnocchi - Good, but you don't get the gnocchi texture. 5* Hen of the Woods Mushrooms - great! perfectly cooked great flavor. 5* BBQ Corn - best part was that the amazingness of this side was totally unexpected. So it's a comfy food dish with refined flavor. Dessert: 4* Orange Madelines - We didn't order these but they came complimentary. Came out warm and tasty w/ nice texture. Can taste and feel the orange zest. Coffee: 5* Cappuccino Wine: 5* Crozes Hermitage Graillot - Syrah from Rhone. Tasty and really nice with the steak The service was great and I'll be taking the bf here soon. A little expensive but worth it for a special occasion. Can't believe it's on Ocean Drive... I might have to change my opinion on the Ocean Drive dining scene.

If you are not opposed to spending a lot for a great meal, then you will not be disappointed at BLT Steakhouse. The popovers that they are serve are AMAZING. I immediately became addicted to them. My steak was cooked to perfection and the service was incredible. I will definitely be returning to BLT on my next trip to Miami.

wanted to love it.. really I did. But I can't .. 2 Stars is my max. We arrived for dinner at 8:30 and decided to wait the 45 minutes for a table inside as it was very humid outside and one person in our party was VERY burnt. To begin it was extremely loud inside as the restaurant in located inside the Betsy hotel. And when I say inside I mean in the LOBBY. That's right .. you walk into the hotel to check in and to the right is the bar and to the left is BLT. Now this would not be so odd if perhaps there was a hallway, door or wall separating the three but instead it is one open space. Very odd. We were seated in a corner near the door where the speakers continued to blast bar music .. this should have been my warning. Now please remember we got to the restaurant @ 8:30 .. waited 30 minutes for a table.. now it is 9pm. We are immediately given menus and a plate of chicken liver pâté .. VERY tasty. About 10-15 minutes pass and we place our orders. We began with Oysters and chopped salad. Oysters were great .. chilled, tangy and divine. Chopped salad.. large portion and fairly tasty. Then they bring out some pop overs .. VERY tasty. Nice fluffy and piping hot. While I enjoyed the two "free" appetizers I began to wonder when our steaks would come out. Now we waited 40 minutes for our meal .. not once did our waiter come by to reassure us that the meal was on its way .. NOT once. Finally at 11:20 our steaks arrived. 11:20 .. seriously almost 2.5 hours after we sat down. The filet was extremely dry and not tasty. The BBQ corn was good; sweet and spicy. The au-gratin potatoes were terrible. Almost tasted like instant.. just horrible. Now here is the real kicker.. it took 40 minutes to get our food and 2 minutes for the check to arrive, take our CC and bring it back. As we were paying the bill they brought over some orange madelines.. tasty but at this point we were all irritated and wanted to go. I would NOT go back. The meal was expensive and the service was TERRIBLE.

This review is only for the breakfast/brunch at BLT. We went here for brunch on Mothers Day with the fam. For some reason, when I read other reviews, I thought it was going to look trendier; but it may have just been that it was daytime so it looked extra casual. The service was great from the moment we arrived. I must mention, however, that the place was pretty empty- maybe 5 or 6 other tables max. On to the food- which was fantastic! There were 5 of us-- 3 of us had the steak and eggs, 1 had something called a BLT Popover, which was a smash hit and then we also had french toast and fresh berries. The brioche french toast was incredible- melt in your mouth, i'm craving it right now- incredible. The steak and eggs came with a tomato that had cheese and panko bread crumbs on top that was delish as well! The home fries were great- the coffee was great-heck, I want me some BLT breakfast RIGHT NOW. Notes- Valet parking at the Betsey Hotel is $20 & they don't validate it or discount it if you eat at the restaurant.

This was a great anniversary dinner for my wife and I. We arrived in Miami on our anniversary after a 5 day cruise. I made reservations earlier in the evening and was able to get an outside table for a decent time (I could have had an inside table if I had called as soon as we got off the ship that morning). When we arrived we were shown right to our table in nice spot on the patio and greeted by our waitress. She was very nice and knowledgeable. We looked over the menu and ordered a ceaser salad that was easily big enough to split (thanks to waitress for warning us). We also ordered a small filet and NY strip and grilled asparagus and bbq corn. The popover bread that they bring out automatically is excellent. Our salad was very good, and like I said, very large. Our steaks were both cooked very well. My strip was very juicy and it was cooked to medium-well. These were very good steaks, some of the best I've had outside of my brother-in-laws backyard. The bbq corn is excellent, a must get if you go. We both enjoyed the meal very much. Our waitress suggested the PB chocolate mousse with banana ice cream for dinner and it too was excellent, the flavors reminded of a banana split or a really good shake. Overall it was a great evening. Good food, good company, good people watching. The service was top notch the whole way around. It is very expensive and I don't think you could get out of there for less than $60 a person. The least expensive steak was at least $35 and the least expensive side $9. Don't add anything other than tax and tip and you're already at just under $60. Everything is ala carte so the bill can add up quick. If you want to splurge, this is a good place to do it.

Pop Over Bread! What!!! Last week I was in Miami on business. A group of us decided to have dinner in Miami Beach and wanted a good steak. Well we got much more than that. Our group, of 5, was sat immediately after checking in. For a Tuesday - I do not think a reservation was 100% necessary. The staff was very freindly. Waiter came over and introduced himself - took drink orders and ran through the specials. (1) The bartender was talented enough to whip up a bourbon nased drink for one of my colleagues - just on the suggestions bourbon, citrus and refreshing. Drink was good! (2) The new sushi kitchen was open this night. After all getting our drinks, the work began. Choosing appetizers - we went with all sushi. eel, yellowtail and waygu rolls. The sushi was really good...fish very fresh. Then came the Pop Over Bread!! This was so good. It was warm and flaky - there was butter and sea salt on the table. I mean each of us said we'd cut back a side dish to keep eating this bread. (Someone actually took one home. LOL) For entrees we order a NY Bone-In, Delmanico Rib Eye and Porter House for Two. The waiter and kitchen were excellent in slicing it so to make it family style. Side dishes - parmesean gnocchi...the portion was small but the flavors abundent. I could have had a bowl of it. Sauteed mushrrom were good and grilled aspargus - excellent size and great charr. For five people we ordered just the right amount of food - there was left over but not an exaggerated amount. The presenation of the food is very unique and serves to keep the food hot while on the table. (Cast iron plates). I'd go again - for sure. The Delmanico Rib Eye was a special but it was a fabulous cut of meat...if they have it...order it! I will. Great location as well - nice walk along ocean dr after dinner. All in all a fine dinning experience in Miami Beach.

We ate here last night. I am not inclined to eat on the tourist strip of Ocean Drive (too nosey and crowded, etc.) however out-of-town friends had just stayed at The Betsey and reported that BLT Steak was great...so we gave it a try. Not good. Inattentive service (no smile; no engagement or menu discussion) to start and very weak food to finish. I ordered the crab cake starter; 70% breading very little crab...this is a really an outrage as a former Baltimore resident. I rarely send food back but this was not eatable. Sadly (switching to steak thinking I would be safer in the mainstay of the resto) my main course of cab filet came cold! Honestly guys...at a steak house? So all and all a waste of time and money. Interestingly we have experienced the worst (BLT Steak) and the very best (Milos) in the last two weekends eating out...crazy.

Had dinner here and they had a tasting menu at that time. The bread in is by far the best I've had in a long time. Really weird because I thought I would just be blown away by the steak, which isn't bad at all. But the bread was what really stood out for me. I could eat two loaves of that thing. And yeah, order some steak, too. You won't regret it. :)

Went for Miami spice last night with the uncle, everything was delicious. Best flat iron steak anywhere, great piece of yellowtail, tasty an rich sides, decadent deserts. The 25 buck wine flight was also a good deal and the wines were very good and we got a healthy pour of each. Free madeleines with the coffee.

Well, the best places are always the worst. Knowing that the restaurant was relatively small and that this was South Beach, we (party of 2) arrived at 8:20 pm for a 9:00 pm reservation. The girl at the podium said to check back around 9, so we went to the bar (no seats, of course) and paid $30 for a rum/coke and a vodka/tonic that we drank while dodging people coming and going. I don't mind paying $18-$25 for a good wine, but $15 a crack for a well drink?? Anyhow, I obediently went back to the podium at 9:00 and the young lady told me it would be another 15 minutes or so and that she would come and find me. So, we went back to waiting and I asked the cocktail waitress if this kind of wait was common. She said that the best thing is to keep going back to the podium every 5 minutes. Well, that got me to thinking. I hadn't seen anyone walking thru the bar looking for any waiting parties in the hour I had been there. I went back to the podium, looked at the girl and asked "Do you remember me?" She looked at me and said, "Sorry, but I don't. Can I help you?" I told her about the 9:00 pm reservation and asked her when she thought we could get a table. She said that it was probably going to be another 20-30 minutes. Long story short, we just went down the street where we had an excellent meal at a reasonable price, and where the well drinks were only $5.

No better Sunday brunching, people watching, South Beaching place. Sit outdoors and do the $24 brunch. A couple bloody mary's and I looked like Kramer from the Seinfeld show. The burger was great. I reluctantly gave my wife a taste of it --- not because I didn't want her to try --- but because I wanted it all to myself. She had the lobster salad and didn't want to share either. If you have a chance, check out the hotel. It's going to be a hot spot on South Beach.

Holy popover batman! After a weekend of so-so food in South Beach (Red Steakhouse being the exception), the hubs and I were pleased to find this tasty spot in the glorious Betsy Hotel (I know where I stay next time I go). For brunch, at least, they start you off with mini-popovers that are oh-so-tasty (they even include the recipe, which I do now have in my possession). Husband ordered the gigantic french toast and I had the super version of the popovers in the form of an eggs benedict. Amazing all around.

Caesar salad is amazing. The popovers are amazing as well. I had the Wagyu steak and they gave me two sauces so I could try them both. Had the BBQ corn and potato gratin as well and both were amazing. Seriously loved this place and highly recommend it to people in Miami who want to have a great steak!

Very pricey, so be prepared. Food was excellent and the service was great. BBQ Corn and the popovers were worth the trip along with the steak. The baked potato and Caesar salad were enough for two. Dined outside at the Betsey Hotel; a nice venue.

***.5 Though not on their website BLT Steak offers a 3-course prix-fixe menu. I generally cannot resist taking a prix-fixe option when one is offered so the decision was easy. Bread Service: Raisin-Nut Bread, Popovers The Rasiny-Nut bread was sliced hearty and earthy-sweet; the parmesan popovers were wonderfully light and piping hot. The parmesan flavor was refreshingly understated. First Course: Jumbo Stone Crab Claws. Fresh and beautifully presented. Served with an herby mustard sauce. Good start. Main: Steak, Medium-Rare. Bravo! Immaculately done! Sides: Fingerling Potatoes, Sauteed Brussel Sprouts, French Fries The fingerings were good though not ethereal; think grandmother's specialty dish. The Brussel sprouts, however, were excellent. They had pancetta that I swore was Lop Yuk and perfectly caramelized, soft and crunchy sprout. The fries were perfect (note to self: compare them to Bouchon du Grove)! Desserts: Bouche de Noel, Valrhona Chocolate Souffle and Peppermint Ice Cream I was expecting a light and fluffy souffle with a scoop of peppermint ice cream maybe with crushed peppermint candy in there somewhere (for added texture and flavor), and maybe a sauce of some sort; Creme Anglais? Chocolate? Caramel? A Berry Coulis? Nope. Nada. Nuthin' but a dry and hollow souffle that needed more sugar (and maybe some salt) and some hard ice cream with ice crystals! When dessert is uninspired it sort of puts a damper on the whole evening. 3.5 stars.

I had brunch here on a recent visit home to Miami. The brunch was excellent. I had a bacon, egg, and cheeseburger. I wish the Bloody Marys were larger... but they were nice and spicy. Our waitress was attentive and the outside seating was nice and spacious. Definitely will revisit. If only parking on the beach wasn't such a bitch! But the valet out front is $20. Not terrible by SoBe standards.

This place has a great vibe. It is located in the lobby of the Betsy Hotel and honestly I didnt like that when reading other reviews. however it is fun. The food and service were both great on our trip. It is a little pricey but so is everything in South Beach. I would go again!

In search of the best french toast in Miami I decided to visit BLT steak for breakfast today. Ordered...Brioche french toast, home fries and bottle of water $29.00. If the french toast was as good as the fench toast at The Raleigh I would have been happy, but it fell way short. The brioche at BLT is way too sweet and not the best bread for french toast. If you are on South Beach and looking for a good breakfast just go to The Raleigh!

4.5 stars. We decided to take my father to BLT Steak for Father's Day. It was the perfect choice. The hotel is modern and beautiful. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and not overcrowded like Prime 112. We sat down and were greeted by our very friendly, informed, and sweet waiter who I wished I could take home with me to describe my dinner party menus to guests. Service throughout the night was on point and probably some of the best I have ever had in Miami. I began by ordering the prettiest cocktail, which was crisp, sweet, and refreshing: bacardi light, lime juice, guava nectar, and acai liqueur. The server came to bring us the chicken liver pate with rustic bread which I enjoyed instead of regular bread and butter or tapenade like everywhere else in this city. Once we finished this came the best popovers I have ever had. They were giant, airy, and steaming and had a perfectly cheesy crust. For appetizers we ordered the onion rings which were ok and the oysters which were perfect and a good decision on a hot summer Miami day. For our entrees we ordered the roasted chicken (yes, we ordered chicken at a steak house but it was out of this world), lobster cobb style salad (it had a lot of chunks of fresh lobster, crsiped pancetta, avocado, egg, and a homemade ranch dressing. It was as good as it sounds), 12 oz. filet (the filet was seasoned so well that it didn't need the accompanying choice of sauce, and cooked to perfection), the rib eye with marrow (my brother said it was delicious), bbq corn (which is as good as everyone says it is), spiny lobster macaroni and cheese (very good and had no truffle!! but too expensive at $19), and the fried yuca (perfectly crispy outside, creamy on the inside and not oily at all). After that amazing meal I couldn't fit dessert but my brother and father ordered the molten chocolate cake which they enjoyed very much. I was saddened to see that after the meal I did not get the orange madelines but I probably couldn't have eaten them anyways :). I can't wait to go back again!

It was a girls' night out for a friend & I, & we took a friendly chef's advice to check out BLT Steak @ the Betsy. The place was filled with many different sized parties, from couples dining to families/friends of 6 or more eating & drinking together. While we waited for a table for 2 inside, we had nice cocktails at the bar, served w/ trays of crunchy nuts & various olives. Once our table was available, our server gave us a thorough run-thru of the menu items & specials. We placed our orders, & soon after the tuna tartar & himachi dishes came out and were unbelievably amazing! Then came the chicken liver pate, cured meats & bread starters, along with their fresh popovers w/ butter; truly tongue-tingling apps I tell you! By the time are main courses arrived, we were pleasantly full & asked to box most of it up, including the lobster mac & cheese & poached green beens. As we're finishing up the mandarin madeleines & peanut butter chocolate mousse w/ banana ice dream desserts, we're honored to meet Chef Sam Gorenstein, who's incredibly talented & friendly :). Overall, a wonderful dining experience!

Went on Saturday night, We ate inside very noisy. The popovers were yummy, oysters were also good. However the steak was too dry and we waited over an hour for the entrees to arrive. Dont think I would return and too pricy for the service we received.

Wanted to love BLT...service lacking big time! My husband and two kids chose to go here to celebrate our last night of our vacation. The reviews looked great and we were looking forward to a delicious dinner. The dining room is nice and we were given a great booth with a view of the pool. Our waitress was horrible....she shouldn't be a waitress. She had no personality and never smiled. She didn't explain the menu and we noticed other waiters doing with their tables. My kids milks never arrived and when I asked her about it, she said, "I don't handle the drinks. Let me go check on that." Not really smooth. I ordered filet medium well which arrive medium rare. When I pointed it out, she agreed and rushed it to the back and said "it'll take 2 min" which of course, was much longer. Again, not handled well....no apology or anything. The food was delicious...from my husband's scallops to the popovers. However the service was 1 star....I was so disappointed and felt ripped off by that. After our bill came to $280, it wasnt' worth it. I looked for a manager when we left but didnt' see one. When we walked out, we weren't thanked for dining there and no one said goodbye. The whole experience left us with a bad taste. The waitstaff needs to be better trained in customer service. I gave 3 stars based on the food. We live in Los Angeles and dine out at many fine restaurants but BLT Steak is no up to par.

The best Miami Spice lunch menu in South Beach. Between my boyfriend and I ordered all the dishes offered. As always, there was nothing disappointing about the experience. The food was excellent with a mouth watering grouper ceviche that melted in my mouth with such explosive flavors. The burger was better than any we have had in a while (sorry burger joints, BLT is definitely stiff competition). The service as friendly, timely, and pleasant as always. Last but not least, the cocktails were incredibly layered with such flavor and well balanced - not to sweet, not too sour, just fantastic. It was certainly "flavor heaven."

Boston salade , chopped veg salad was perfect, 12 oz fillet so flavorful ,butternut squash and a $17 ketel one martini, 2 coffees $113.36 and it was worth it. PS have drinks beforehand! The service was attentive and I thought the food presentation excellent. The popovers are special.

We wanted an early dinner/late lunch and instead of stopping at one of the million crappy happy hour restaurants along the beach, we decided to go to BLT steak. We did have our 9 month old with us, which I feel like is so frowned upon at any restaurant in South Beach, but oh well, I'm willing to pay for your food, you can hang out with my baby for a little bit. The service was OK. I wanted the soup of the day, but then he came back 10 minutes later and said they were all out. It took FOREVER to get our 2 sandwiches. I mean probably close to 30 or 40 minutes. I had a steak and fontina cheese panini which was delish. Hubby had a burger, which he said was just OK. Nice wine selection, would have liked to actually had dinner there and gotten a steak. Would probably try again, but it didn't blow me away.

We went to dinner here last night and the atmosphere was amazing the food was outstanding. After dinner my friend ordered the cheese cake which has a citrus sherbert on top. At the the time of order she told our waitress she could not have the citrus sherbert because she was allergic to citrus. The waitress confirms there will be none on it. When it arrives sure enough there it was with the citrus on top. We told her that we ordered it without the citrus and the waitress jerked it out of her hand hand huffed and puffed as she walked away with a snarl on her face. It was very very rude and other waiters noticed the behavior and apologized for her. It was just unacceptable for us to be treated that way by a waitress at this place. over all experience was good but i was very disappointed about this behavior.

I have to start by saying that I am addicted to Yelp, but this is the first time I feel compelled to write a review. BLT Steak was divine! Freshly baked popovers. Now that we've covered those, let me move on to the rest of the deliciousness that was consumed. First off, not only does the meal begin with big, fluffy, still-warm-from-the-oven popovers, but the table is also graced with a wonderful chicken pate. I am not usually a pate fan, but this one was incrediblee. We also had the crabcake (light and refreshing), and the butternut squash soup (full of flavor). Both of which were fantastic! Afterwards we each had a steak (filet and ribeye), both were cooked to perfection, with the jalapeno mashed potatoes (my favorite), bbq corn (yum!), and hen of the woods mushrooms (amazing flavor). For dessert, we had the peanut butter mousse (which I loved), the molten chocolate cake with peppermint icecream (compliments of the chef bc there was a bday at the table), the panna cotta (lovely!), and fresh madelines (also compliments of the chef). Needless to say we were stuffed afterwards, but it was well worth it! The service, atmosphere, and menu at BLT Steak all made for a wonderful experience.

love the newly renovated Betsy Hotel...brings you right back to 1940's Miami...not the same old Sobe, trendy crap that you'll see everywhere...BLT is basically incorporated into the hotel lobby and really draws completely off the hotel's identity...which isn't a bad thing...the hamachi appetizer was awsome...we just wanted more....the steaks were all properly seasoned and prepared...service was good

I took my girlfriend to BLT last night for her birthday and it definately exceeded my expectations. The ambiance was very comfortable, and the steak was pretty much as good as it gets! The poppers that are served before the meal are out of this world!
